The 2013 CAB Tournament lived today its first day of activity. In an environment of great celebration, conviviality and healthy competition, the participating teams played their first games, establishing the whole for the rest event. Thus, in the morning, the Francisco Franco School and SIMECQ measured forces in the sub-16 male ranks. The victory smiled at the formation of Francisco Franco, who won the match by the result of 55-49. At the same time, but in field 3, the same teams faced each other, but this time, in the ranks of female sub-14s. The victory was from the formation of SIMECQ, which won the match expressively by the result of 81-14 and thus ‘aving’ the defeat of their clubmates in field 1. In the afternoon, more teams went into action and the pavilion was filled with coaches, athletes and spectators to watch several exciting games. In the women's sub-16s, the CAB, the host team, faced the SIMECQ, in what was a repetition of a game recently played, when the same two teams measured forces in the National Under-16 Women's Cup match. The result was 43-41. The game, decided only after extension, was extremely emotional and undoubtedly one of the games of the Tournament, filled with quality and good basketball moments. In the ranks of female sub-14s, CAB and Galomar stood face to face, with the victory smiling at the CAB team for 51-44. In the male sub-16s, CAB ‘A’ and CAB ‘B’ provided a ‘red’ fight for victory, with the playing field receiving CAB players in a true spirit of loyal competition, as is desirable in sport. At the end of the 40 minutes the victory was the CAB team ‘A’, for the result of 125-21. In the last few games of the day, the formation of the Porto Santo Basketball confronted the home team in the sub-14 male ranks. This time, the CAB did not miss the match, winning by 95-30. At the same level, the Escola Francisco Franco e SIMECQ measured strength, with the victory hanging for the formation of Francisco Franco, with the marker at the end of the match marking the result of 80-51. For tomorrow, 11 more games are scheduled, which will be played between 9:00 and 7:30. Then, at 8 p.m., it will be the official opening of the Tournament, which only takes place on Tuesday due to the late arrival of some teams.
