The women's CAB team received Vagos in a match to tell the Portuguese Cup. All the pressure of the game was on the side of the Madeirans, current holders of the trophy. On the other side, Vagos had nothing to lose and everything had to win. Therefore, the CAB would have to take the initiative of the game, although it is playing limited, the result of a severe cold that is affecting Aleighsa Welch, one of its reference players. The match began best for the house, which made a partial of 10–0 in the first 5 minutes of the meeting. The Vagos' response was followed, as it was natural, by fixing the amrcator at 17-7, a result that reached the end of the first half. In the second period, the defense of the CAB was much more wasteful than it had been in the first period, the slip of the Friends was used by the visitors to mark the points that were not being able to bill so far. Also benefiting from less enlightened situations in the course of the game, including two technical faults for Madeirans, Vagos balanced the game. Even so, an offensive urge of the Friends to end the period fixed the result at 35-26, with which the trainings collected from the locker rooms. At this stage of the meeting, Joana Lopes (10), Aleighsa Welch (10) and Britany Miller (6) were the most billed in the CAB. On the return to the game, the CAB saw an enormous pressure placed on it, which limited the playing ability of its players, especially in physical contact zones. Even so, the CAB did not yield, and despite losing the partial (15-16), the Friends managed to keep the lead on the marker, finishing the third time with the result in 50-42. In the last and final period, the two teams knew it was time for ‘all or nothing’ so they entered the game with great aggression. To the Vagos' advances, often in search of the launch of three points, the CAB closed ranks with a concentrated defense. In the attack, the Friends alternated the selection of the good releases with some precipitations, which brought instability to the game. With part-time play, the CAB led 57-49. A time discount requested by Vagos did not generate the attitude shift expected by visitors, as the CAB responded with four consecutive points, raising the advantage to 61-49, with 4 minutes to play at the meeting. Until the end of the meeting, the balance was the dominant score between the two teams, however, despite being struggling with various adversities, the Friends maintained a strong aggressive posture and greater serenity in the attack. A highlight note to the Joana Lopes base (17 points, 8 points and 8 assists), who ‘secure’ the team very well at various times of the meeting, including in the last and decisive phase, acting as a true leader within the field. Also highlighted is Britany Miller, who recorded a double (12 points, 11 points), giving a lot of solidity to the friends' inner game. Meritably, the Madeirans won the last partial by 22-12 and won the game by 72-54, confirming their passage to the final rooms of the Portuguese Cup. This stage will be held on 9 February, the day when the CAB will receive, in its pavilion, the formation of Torres Novas, in departure that has not yet scheduled time. In individual terms: Rosinha Rosário (7), Joana Lopes (17), Aleighsa Welch (12), Britany Miller (12), Ejay Ofomata (11), Carolina Scorcio (4), Marta Bravo (6) and Leonor Nunes (3).
