The last game of the CAB/CM Hotels Cup was played between the home team, the CAB, and the Danes of Horsholm. After, on the eve, the Gran Canaria cemented the first place of the event, Madeirans and foreigners played second place in the race, predicting great balance between the two formations. Better started the home team, which quickly scored five unanswered points from the Danish. However, Horsholm soon reacted and, with five minutes of play, won by 7-10. The CAB again balanced the meeting, much the result of a greater success in the defensive provision, and reached the end of the first half with the marker in 16-18, in favor of the visitors. In the second half, the Friends were frankly better, with emphasis on the benefits of Julie Forster (10 points and 8 points to the interval) and Carla Freitas (7 points to the interval). On the Horsholm side, Ivana Jovanovic (10 points to the interval) and Iben Soltan (9 points to the interval) assumed the greatest offensive responsibilities, even though the Danish women were standing out more for their whole than for the individual talent of their athletes. The break came with 32-35, in favor of Horsholm, allowing for a very competitive and balanced second part, similar to what had happened in the first two stages of the game. On the return of the resorts, those commanded by João Pedro Vieira entered with a strong rhythm and with a very cohesive performance in the defensive chapter managed to impose their will in the game. In the middle of the third half, the CAB was already ahead by 44-40 and was proving that it would not remove the foot from the accelerator. The indication was confirmed, and by the end of the third period, the Friends were already winning the game by 56-55, a balance generated by a reaction by the Danish in the last minutes. In the fourth and last period, ‘only gave CAB’!... The players of the house were ‘endiabrated’ and dominated the opponent, with merit, exploring the long distance options and also the game closer to the basket. In defense, the hit of the Amigas continued, as is well demonstrated by the twenty ball robberies that the ladies in red and white conquered. Also in the caveats, the CAB was superior, conquering 30, against 20 of the Danish, and in the triples, the house noted 9, against only 5 of the visitors. The game ended with the result of 85-70 in favor of the Madeiran team. The CAB won second place in the race, and in addition, athlete Julie Forster was elected MVP of the tournament. In individual terms: Sara Barreira (2), Joana Lopes (6), Marta Bravo (11), Rickiesha Bryant (14), Julie Forster (24), Carlina Escortius (6), Carla Freitas (22).
