The women's CAB team received the formation of Ovarense in a match for the 20th Women's League. Despite the theoretical differences between the teams, the Friends knew that they had to do their best to, from early in the game, affirm their superiority over the continentals and take the lead in the rhythm of the meeting. On the other hand, Ovarense is determined to make life difficult for the CAB and would not give in easily. Friends got into the game and won the first half by 24-10. The Madeirans were able to switch well the inner game with the outside game, presenting offensive arguments that visitors could not stop. On the other hand, the points conquered by the continentals were more the product of CAB slips, which was revealing some problems in defensive rotations. In the second half, the CAB didn't do so well. The defensive failures revealed in the first ten minutes worsened, allowing Ovarense to realize easy baskets. In the tank, the CAB was more fickle, but leaving the feeling that whenever they were faithful to their game scheme, the Madeirans could score and dominate the meeting. At the interval, the advantage remained those of the house by 40-28, with Aleighsa Welch (15 points and 6 points) to be the great figure of the meeting. In the third period, the CAB was again superior to the Ovarense (18-17). The Madeirans again demonstrated their capacity, especially in the offensive table, but, in defense, they presented, in spaces, some lack of intrusion. In the fourth quarter, Ovarense gave everything to overcome the sites and reduce the accumulated advantage. However, the CAB was always able to respond to the pressure of visitors. Although their players continue to be very 'punished', especially the players of the interior, a fact that conditioned (during the entire match) the freedom of play of the Madeirans, the CAB, in fairness, sealed the triumph by 78-65. A final note of recognition of the great spirit of group and unity revealed by the CAB team. Friends have shown that they are together and determined to face the final straight line of the championship and the playoff, despite the many setbacks against which they have fought and will continue to fight. Surely the 'our girls' will be able to live up to it and will still give many joys to the club that loves them so much! In individual terms: Cintia France (5), Rosinha Rosario (14), Marta Bravo (5), Filipa Bernardeco (8), Leonor Nunes (8), Carolina Escorcio (1), Ejay Ofomata (6), Aleighsa Welch (27), Britany Miller (4).
