The CAB faced Lousada in play for the first hand of the Victor Hugo Cup. The match was the first official game of the Friends this time and a test on how they would react to real competition situations for young CAB players. Remember that this CAB team, guided by João Pedro Vieira, has little to do with the teams from previous times. This results not only from the departure of several athletes to the continent, where they continue their studies, but also from the great budgetary constraints to which the club is subject, the result of an adverse regional financial environment, as is well known. Adding to this, the team of friends remains incomplete and will only assume its final composition during the next week. Even with his youth and still in the pre-season phase, CAB's formation approached the game with Lousada with the intention of deepening his preparation for the upcoming Women's League games. But the game didn't start well for friends. Accusing, perhaps, the fact that they woke up at 5:00 in the morning to catch the early flight to Porto, our girls entered the apathetic game and unable to translate into the field what they have been working on so far. The interval came with the result in 26-32, favorable to Lousada. The initial five was as follows: Catarina Freitas, Maria João, Ana Jardim, Carolina Escortius and Márta Bravo. However, the very positive note that, at the end of the first 20 minutes, Coach João Pedro had already made a total rotation of the squad, with all players watching minutes of play. The interval was very good for Madeirans, who returned from the locker rooms with a totally different attitude and full of desire to take control and control of departure. A special highlight for Maria João, who showed why she is the best national player of her generation, and who rolled the opponent, played after play, and converting four triple throws. It also highlights Marta Bravo, who demonstrated an exemplary delivery, not only in scoring points, but also in the chapter of the caveats. The rest of the team was also very well and united. In fact, the team has shown that in union is its strength, and although it is obvious that they still have a lot of work to do, the attitude is there and it fills the FAMILY CAB with happiness. The end of the game came with the result of 64-48, in favor of the CAB! In the final balance, coach João Pedro Vieira said: "For the first game-training of the time, you could see the long way we have to go in the construction of our defense. The attack will appear naturally." Tomorrow, the Friends face the formation of Vagos in departure scheduled for 3:30. We wish our athletes a good rest and all the luck in the world! In individual terms: Maria João (29), Marta Bravo (9), Ana Jardim (2), Cintia France (5), Christian Shelter (3), Carolina Escortium (10), Yasminne Chermiti (2), Catarina Freitas, Monica Luis (4) and Diana Melim.
