CAB and GDESSA competed in the Federation Cup final. The teams met for the contest after winning the formations of Boa Viagem and Lombos, respectively. The GDESSA, who played at home and in front of the public, relied on support that the CAB did not have. However, friends also arrived at the end after a dignified clearance phase, in which they had shown their collective value and competitiveness. They were therefore gathering the ingredients for a good basketball game. In the first period, the team of the house entered better, which, after five minutes, led the marker by 9-4, much fruit of the provision of its base, which had noted all points of the team. The CAB was not intimidated and responded with a 0-8 partial, which tied the match to 9-12, with 4 minutes to play. By the end of time, the CAB demonstrated a good collective understanding, as well as a versatile offensive capacity. However, he also committed some defensive flaws that allowed the opponents to gain points in the table and convert them into points. Therefore, at the end of the first period, the marker accused 18-21 in favor of Madeirans. In the second half, GDESSA entered very determined and, with 3 minutes to go, tied the game to 23-23. However, a free throw of Joana Lopes and two baskets (of Leonor Nunes and Ejay Ofomata) put the marker on 23-28 for the CAB when we were in the middle of the second half. Until the break, the balance was the dominant score between the two teams and proving it was the fact that the second half was 15-15. Within the field, the CAB had struggled to build a significant punctual advantage over the GDESSA, but the home team had had the merit of not letting the Friends take over the game, taking advantage of some facilities that the Madeirans had committed in the defensive chapter and the jumps. Thus, the interval reached the score in 33-36, in favor of the CAB. At this stage of the meeting, the best writers in the CAB were Aleighsa Welch (10), Marta Bravo (7) and Britany Miller (6). In GDESSA, the most effective were Costa (15) and Johnson (9). Statistically speaking, the percentage of CAB launches (40%) was slightly higher than GDESSA (35%). But in the jumps (21 gains for each side), in the ball losses (5 for the GDESSA and 6 for the CAB) and in the faults committed (9 for each side), the balance was the dominant note. On the return to the game, the balance of the two teams remained, with CAB and GDESSA exchanging baskets. However, the CAB was failing a lot, including in areas near the basket, and this aspect was used by the CASA to move ahead of the marker (43-40) when 5 minutes of play had elapsed. Consequently, the CAB asked for a time-out to try to reverse events and re-enter the dispute. The CAB team reacted and revealed new aggression. Although the game is full of physics, with the Madeiran team being quite ‘punished’ in the areas near the basket, the Madeirans did not lose heart and a triple of Joana Lopes with the horn ringing put the marker in 51-54, at the end of the third half. In the last time, the CAB played all-for-all in an aggressive defensive posture, knowing that there was the answer to stall the attacks of the opponents and gain advantage in the game. With 4 minutes of play, the CAB was ahead for 55-63, but the match was being played and the victory was uncertain. GDESSA had a reaction again, and with less than 3 minutes to play, the difference between the two teams was only one point (67-68) in favor of the CAB. By the end, the two teams put everything in the field, striving to ensure victory. When only 30 seconds left to play, the game was tied to 74-74. With four seconds to play, after a failure of the CAB under the basket, the continentals won two free throws, and after converting one of them, they won the Federation Cup by 75-74.
