CAB and Sportiva played the Women's League Super Cup at the Pavilion. The game faced the team that won the Cup of Portugal last season (CAB) and the team that became national champion (Sportiva). In the first period, the CAB came in better. However, Sportiva's response was not expected. The visitors explored with merit the many defensive weaknesses revealed by the Madeirans, not only at the level of the caveats (where Sportiva was superior, despite the lower average height), but also at the chapter of the rotations, in which the Friends were clearly with a leadership deficit. As a result, visitors finished the first ten minutes ahead by 23-16. In the second period, the superiority of the Azorean team was more evident. With the exception of the Joana Lopes base, the CAB team showed a lack of initiative in defensive aspects, appearing to be a limited team when attacking the basket and scoring. In defense, the CAB appeared more aggressive, but the team was fickle. As far as the attack was concerned, there was no consistent thread to the collective action. The passing of time brought no improvements and the game reached the break with Sportiva ahead for 41-28. On the return of the locker rooms, Sportiva continued its assault on the CAB basket and expanded its advantage to the two dozen points. On the other hand, there was no way the CAB could find an answer to the height, to the sadness of the people who filled the CAB Pavilion in the hope of a happy ending. In the fourth half, Sportiva limited itself to managing the marker, never letting the CAB approach. The Azoreans had all the merit, not only for their superior organization, but also because they were superior, with a determination, will and claw that are typical of those who play to win. The final result(76-57) mirrored what happened within the field and the vast superiority demonstrated by the visitors.
