The CAB men's team today began a demanding double journey. While, tomorrow, the Friends will measure strength with the Electric, today was the turn of the CAB to face the Ovarense, an opponent that occupies, with the Madeirans, the first places of Group B. The game began best for the CAB, which won the first period by 17-24. to highlight in the first ten minutes the good collective posture of the team of Madeira. Although none of the teams are recording large percentages in the launches (44% for those of the house and 47% for the CAB), it was worth, to those guided by João Paulo Silva, a greater domain in the caveats (10 conquered, against 7 of the Ovarense) and also greater effectiveness in the defense, which generated four losses of ball to the men of the house. In the second half, the CAB entered stronger, and, with two minutes elapsed, the Friends had already increased their advantage to 19-33. After a time-out, the housemen tried to relaunch the match. However, the CAB maintained the good collective attitude it had recorded, and, after six minutes, the difference between the two groups remained at 14 points (23-37). Until the break, the home team pushed the CAB hard to reduce the loss and try to gain some ascendancy in the match. However, thanks to a number of converted triple releases, the CAB not only managed to defend its advantage, but even extended it, reaching the middle of the game ahead by 33-51. At this stage of the meeting, the best CAB writers were Alex Marzette (17), Fábio Lima (12) and Fred Gentry (11). By the team of Ovar, the most unconformed were Novak (12) and Neves (10). On the return of the locker rooms, the CAB was once again dominant, winning the partial by 13-20. Although at various times the game has been balanced, the Madeirans have always found a way to unbalance events in their favor, usually using the outside release. For this reason, the superiority of the CAB after half an hour of play (46-71) was accepted and fair. In the last time, the CAB showed some decompression, something that is accepted from the point of view that the team, aware of the punctual advantage, was perhaps with a lower concentration than it had shown. Even so, the dominance of the Madeirans in the game was never at risk, with the CAB sealing its triumph for 67-85, with Alez Marzette (22), Fabio Lima (20) and Fred Gentry (15) highlighted. The victory of the CAB solidifies the position of Friends in the leadership of the 'B' Group and puts them in a beneficial position with a view to their integration into the Men's League playoffs, an objective outlined at the beginning of the season. Even so, until this situation is confirmed, it is expected from the CAB maximum concentration, humility and commitment, as has been the case so far. After today’s game, the ‘our boys’ travel to the south of the country, more specifically the Sun Bridge, where tomorrow they will measure forces against the tram. The game is expected to be especially fierce, as the continental team needs points to avoid descent. So we wish the squad and their technical team every success! In Funchal, the women's CAB team received and won Lousada's 105-68 training. The evolution of the marker was as follows: 29-21 (1p), 54-34 (2p), 75-51 (3p) and 105-68 (final).
