The CAB won the Victor Hugo Cup by defeating, in the final, the formation of Vagos by the result of 58-41. The trophy, which has been fleeing the Madeiran team since the 2008/2008 season, is the first title of the season for the Amigas and rewards, with all due justice, the positive and committed delivery that the Madeirans had in all the games they played until raising the desired trophy. Unlike the other games in the competition, the Victor Hugo Cup final was played according to the procedures of a regular basketball game, with four 10-minute periods. The game began with great balance, and with 5 minutes of play, the result was 6-5 in favor of the CAB. If, on the one hand, the Madeirans were betting on the most organized attack, Vagos was trying to explore speed, the rapid counterattack exits and the long-distance launch, a chapter in which he was being effective. In the minutes that followed, the continentals were better than the Madeirans and made a more effective exploitation of their arguments. Highlighting the inspiration Vagos was displaying in the long-distance launch, which, in the first half, made a difference and allowed that team to reach the end of the first 10 minutes to win by 15-21. In the second half, the CAB entered better, which, with 3 minutes of play, had not only prevented any point from the opponents but also tied the game to 21-21. It should be noted that, at this stage of the meeting, the two teams were in the field only with Portuguese players. At the time that followed, the CAB tried to build some ascendancy, but the Vagos did not disarm and kept up with the Madeirans. Even so, when the interval arrived, the CAB had already cancelled the advantage that the continentals had at the end of the first period and were ahead for the result of 30-28. In the Friends, Filipa Bernardeco (5) and Catarina Miranda (5) were the best scorers. In the Vagos, the right one was Joana Canastra (15). To highlight, too, the 10 highlights won in the first part by Simona Podesvova, who dominated the list of the best highlighters. Second part of effort and merit After the break, the balance remained the dominant score in the match, with no team building a significant advantage in the scorer. Even so, the CAB was succeeding in preserving a slight punctual advantage, and, in the middle of the third half, it won by 41-32, the result of a greater success in the launches, as well as a great collective spirit, especially in defensive tasks. To stop the CAB, Vagos moved his defense to a zone and, in the attack, it was in search of the players who gave him more points guarantees. The CAB fought hard and with great determination not to give in and managed to reach the end of the third time ahead by 45-35. In the last period, the CAB entered better and placed the marker in 48-35, with 3 minutes elapsed in time. The Vagos did not disarm, demanding from the Friends their best version to keep their punctual advantage and avoid any less pleasant surprise. Maintaining, until the end, much concentration and determination, both in the attack and in defense, the Amigas guaranteed the victory in the meeting for 58-41 and won the trophy with all justice, especially due to the great collective spirit they demonstrated in all games, revealing that they are building a solid and cohesive team. In individual terms: Filipa Bernardeco (8), Cynthia France (2), Vitória Pacheco (6), Marquelle Dent (9), Ines Ajanovic (8), Rosinha Rosário (6), Catarina Miranda (11), Simona Podesvova (8), Marta Bravo and Catarina Freitas.
