CAB and Algés offered a reissue of the Super Cup game, played last weekend in Carcavelos with the victory of the continentals. The game left a bitter mouth on the Friends, disappointed in their performance, because they felt they could and should have done more. So the question was whether the CAB would react to the departure of last Sunday or whether, on the contrary, Algés would use its arguments once again. The start of today's game was all very convincing to those guided by João Pedro Vieira. Unfocused and apparently apathetic, CAB players were totally dominated by the home team, which reached the end of the first ten minutes to win by 15-8. The ineffectiveness of friends in the attack and defense contrasted well with the youth and energy of Algés, making it clear that if the CAB wanted to win the game, it would have to do more and better. In the second period, the CAB presented itself with a totally different energy and a much more aggressive attitude. In the attack and defense, the Friends took the reins of the meeting and gave no chance to the players of the house. Fruit, essentially, of a great defensive posture, the Friends made a partial of 6-22 and reached the interval to win by 21-30. Everything was open for the second part. The return of the locker rooms was positive for the CAB. Friends continued to impose themselves on Algés' team and were able to continue to exploit their strengths. The defensive attitude of the Madeirans, which allowed them to ‘dry’ the main weapons of continentals and develop effective attack and counterattack transitions, was fundamental for managing the advantage gained. On the Algés side, the team proved to be a very well-oriented and competitively strong formation. In fact, the women in the house never disarmed and always tried to counter the CAB game. However, the Madeirans remained superior and reached the end of the third period to be won by 36-45. In the fourth and final period of the meeting, CAB and Algés offered a beautiful and exciting basketball match. The two formations gave in to the game and demonstrated their full competitiveness and desire. On the one hand and on the other, the players did everything to take the victory home, always acting in a frame of loyalty and respect, which is very good for the sport and for the Women's League. There was a destque - deserved! - for the team of Algés, who, until the last minute, tried to turn the meeting upside down, benefiting from a physical breakdown of the CAB, but also on its own merit. No doubt Algés did well and knew how to use his weapons. However, in the end, the CAB prevailed by 50-61, making the feast. The 'guide' is broken with John Peter & Company to win the first victory in the Women's League! In individual terms: Ana Jardim (2), Marta Bravo (3), Maria João (20), Christian Shelter (13), Justina Udenze (21), Crolina Scorcio (1), Cynthia France, Catarina Freitas and Carla Relva.
