The CAB men's team performed the first game of a double journey in May. The match was of great importance to the Madeirans, who wanted to increase their punctual advantage over the local team. However, on the other hand there was a training that would make life difficult for those guided by João Paulo Silva and who also approached the game with great ambition. The meeting began best for Maia's team, which won the first half by 20-13. The continentals showed greater serenity at the time of throwing to the basket, especially in the last three minutes of the partial (47% efficacy against only 29% of the CAB). However, the CAB had a strong attitude and proof of this was the strong presence of the Friends in the chapter of the caveats. In fact, at the end of the first ten minutes, the superiority of the Madeirans over the Maya class in this respect was very clear (8-12), although it was not being converted into a punctual advantage. In the second half, the CAB did not enter in the best way and, with three minutes played, saw the Maya increase its advantage to 27-16, a situation created by merit of the Maia, but also by some losses of ball in the attack of the Friends. Even so, the CAB did not let go, and in the middle of the second partial, thanks to several converted baskets and a better defensive posture, lost by 'only' four points (30-26), giving indications of rising yield. By the end of the meeting, the CAB confirmed its ancestry, and, with less than a minute to the interval, passed ahead of the result (35-36), the result of a sequence of converted external releases and even a spectacular sinking of Alez Marzette. Maia answered right after and put the marker in 39-37, in his favor. However, the CAB, always combative, responded as well, and under the break whistle, Fred Gentry, with a triple, returned to put the CAB in front for 39-40. At this stage of the meeting, the best markers of the CAB were Fred Gentry (19) and Arvidas Gydra (10). In Maia, the highlight was Brewer (17). In the third period, the CAB entered with a very strong rhythm, and, with three minutes played, placed the marker at 41-50. The Madeirans showed signs of a very effective collective understanding, which forced Maia's coach to request a time-out. The answer of the house was not immediate, because, in the middle of the partial, the CAB had already raised the punctual advantage for the ten (46-56) and showed signs of being very confident in the game. By the end of the third half, the teams were not as effective as they had been so far, so there was a lower pace in the game. The locals tried to take advantage of the less productive phase of the CAB to assume greater prominence, but a good final line of Friends again placed the marker in 55-65, a result with which the third half ended. In the last period, the CAB entered again with a very strong collective spirit, which resulted in points converted into the opponent basket and increased punctual advantage, which was sixteen points (55-71) when they had been played three minutes. Maia did everything to react, but the CAB maintained a very strong and very competitive stance, demonstrating that it was, on its own merit, 'your day'. Changing the long distance (15 triples converted into the whole game!...) with the game in the nearest areas of the basket, the CAB maintained its superiority until the end, winning the game by 72-93. In individual terms: Fred Gentry (22), Fabio Lima (20), Diogo Gameiro (9), Arvydas Gydra (19), José Correia (3), Stefan Djukic (6) and Alex Marzette (14).
