The CAB Men's Team went to Guimarães to face the local team on the penultimate journey of the Second Phase of LPB. The game has put forward two extremely competitive teams who know each other very well and have fought very interesting battles over the past few years. So there was a good basketball show ahead of us. The game started better for the home team, which, with 3 minutes of play already leading the meeting for 9-0. Until the end of the first half, the domination of the Victory continued, much fruit of effectiveness in the long-distance launch, with those of the house ending the first time ahead by 32-16. In the second half, the CAB got in better. With 2 minutes of play, the Madeirans had already performed a partial of 0-9 and reduced the punctual loss to 32-25. Four minutes later, the pressure of the CAB increased, with Friends reducing the marker to 38-35, the result of a stronger defense and greater concentration at the time of launch. Until the break Victoria responded to the ascendant of the CAB. On the other hand, the Friends lost some of the effectiveness they had shown and also accused some tiredness. All these added factors allowed Victoria to maintain some distance from the CAB and reach the interval to win by 48-39, despite the victory of the partial being from the Madeirans by 16-23. On the return of the locker rooms, the CAB entered the game well, and, with 4 minutes played, had placed the marker in 50-45. Vitória tried to take off, but two consecutive ‘bombs’ of Fábio Lima and an acrobatic basket of Jovonni Shuler in the background placed the marker in 59-56, with just under 3 minutes to play. A discount of time requested by the team of the house did not have the desired effect, as the CAB passed to the front of the marker (59-60), with less than 2 minutes to play. By the end of the partial, the two teams fought for superiority, but the result at the end of the third half was a draw (64-64), although the Madeirans clearly dominated the partial (16-25). In the last time, with the pressure of the high game, the house had entered better, which, with 3 minutes played, had gained an advantage of 73-69. A discount from the CAB did not generate the desired response, and with 5 minutes played, the advantage of the Victory was 76-69. As the game drew to an end, Friends continued to fight and believe. However, the will of the Madeirans was not accompanied by their physical condition, which showed signs of fatigue, a factor that played in favor of those of the house. Still, with less than 3 minutes to play, 3 free throws converted by Fábio Lima placed the result in 78-75. Shuler and Ventura baskets followed, which tied the game to 78 points, with less than a minute and a half to play. From this point, the players of the Victory went increasingly to the free throw line, and, just from there, placed the scorer in 81-78, with less than 1 minute to play. Another triple of Fábio Lima, with 20 seconds to finish the match, again tied the scorer (81-81) and showed, bluntly, that the CAB would not be allowed to win. A time-out requested by the house did not result in points and the game thus proceeded for extension. The extension opened with a triple of Fábio Lima, which placed the marker in 81-84. Vitória's response came again from the free throw line, from where they were twice able to respond to the field baskets of the CAB and tie the score in 85-85, with 2 minutes played. In the course of the game, Jorge Coelho after the result in 85-87, but Victoria managed to convert some baskets and led for 91-89, with 14 seconds to play. Free throw, Jovonni Shuler tied the game to 91-91, forcing the house's new timeout. After the time-out, Victoria saw himself again on the free throw line, where he won the game by 92-91. It deserves prominence, respect and praise the fierce, exciting and character-filled performance of CAB players. As they have done so several times throughout the time, our boys have honored the sweater they wear and filled us with pride – proud that they are the ‘our boys’, because they are the ones we believe in and because we have a great affection and respect for them. Today, as in so many times, you were GREAT! One word: ORGULHO! In individual terms: Jovoni Shuler (23), DeAndre Mays (2), Bruno Cavalcante (2), Jorge Coelho (15), George Blakeney (11), Fabio Lima (17), Carlos Bettencourt (3), Diogo Ventura (18).
