The men's staff at the CAB had a trip to Sampaense's house, an always difficult terrain. Despite the fact that the continentals are not making an epoch at their own level, the game required the maximum concentration of the CAB in order to avoid surprises and to confirm the so-desired victory, even more so because the Madeirans could not count on Fabio Lima, one of his greatest references, away by shoulder injury. The game began best for the CAB team, which won the first half by 17-19. The superiority of the Friends in the marker, however, did not reflect what was happening in the field, because the game was being quite balanced, with the men of the house determined not to facilitate life to the formation of João Paulo Silva. In the second half, the Sampaense was better and won the partial by 20-14, reaching the interval in leadership by 37-33. To this end, the CAB also contributed, which was not as effective as in the first half, and this proves that it reached the middle of the game with an effective release of only 39%, against 52% of the men in the house. The third period did not begin in the best way, since, with five minutes played, the CAB saw the Sampaense shoot the scorer for a ten-point leadership (49-39). The CAB tried to respond, which he did with great determination and 'soul'. In fact, the Friends, as they have often done throughout the season, were an example of the game and managed to win the partial (12-14) and leave the Sampaense with only two points of advantage in the scorer (49-47). With three minutes played in the last and last time, the CAB moved forward (56-57), demonstrating the strength of their belief and their collective sense. The Sampaense tried to eliminate the short advantage of the Madeiran team, and, two minutes from the end, they passed again forward (67-65). However, the 'steel nerves' of João Paulo Silva's team, as well as the strong personality of the group, caused the team not to be intimidated, and after a very successful game finale, the CAB remained ahead until three seconds of the end. Still, two free throws of the house tied the match (75-75) and took the game for extension. In the extension, the game was played 'taco-a-taco', with no team building a significant advantage. However, the Friends have demonstrated a truly exemplary tenacity, and, without ever disarming, although they are fighting a huge accumulated tiredness, they have gained an advantage from a point (83-84) to 33 seconds from the end. But a loss of the Madeirans put the game in the hands of the locals, with 24 seconds left in the stopwatch. Those 24 seconds, for CAB fans, must have been the longest ever!... But in the end, the victory was red by the result of 83-84. Female team slips 'out of doors' The women's CAB team lost this afternoon in the GDESSA stronghold for the 68-66 result. The evolution of the marker was as follows: 12-20 (1p), 28-37 (2p), 47-54 (3p) and 68-66 (final).
