The CAB received Lusitânia in a match counting to the Cup of Portugal. The team led by João Paulo Silva sought clearance for the next stage of the race. On the other side, the Azoreans had the same intention and wanted to leave Madeira with a victory. Note that the CAB team presented themselves to the game with a black tape on the shirt strap, in a sign of club mourning for the death of Mário Gil Fernandes, one of the club's founders, as well as player, father of players and president of SAD. A minute of silence was also observed at the start of the match. The game began better for the Madeirans, who won the first half by 27-15. In the second period, the difference between the two formations was even more significant, with the CAB accumulating a difference of 17 points. When collecting for the locker rooms, the marker marked 47-30 in favor of the house. Highlight, at the interval, for the provision of Jovonni Shuler, which already accumulated 22 points marked. However, the key to the success of the CAB was the collective provision, especially a very strong stance of the Friends in the chapters of defense and resurrection. Already in the attack, the CAB was much more organized than the visitors, alternating the indoor game with the outside and intelligently exploring their options. On the return to the game, the CAB was less well and lost the period by 17-27. At this stage of the game, the Friends accused defensive failures, which allowed the Azoreans to approach the marker. Even so, at the end of the third half, the advantage remained CAB for 64-57. In the last period, the CAB again took over the reins of the game and put into play its collective potential. There have been very good basketball moments, with Friends revealing great understanding, sense of mutual help and leaving very good indications for the near future. To prove that, five CAB players scored 12 or more points, constituting a genuine headache for Lusitania. In the end, the victory was the CAB for 88-74, with the Madeirans confirming the passage to the next stage of the Cup of Portugal, marking presence in the elimination against Barcelos. In individual terms: Jovoni Shuler (26), Jorge Coelho (4), Fabio Lima (15), Ricky Franklin (12), Diogo Ventura (5), George Blakeney (14), Bruno Cavalcante (12).
