CAB and Academica entered the third game of the semi-finals knowing that, although the match did not decide who would be in the final, it was extremely important, as it gave the winner a precious advantage. In this regard, the greater pressure was on the side of the Friends, because if they lost, they would have to play a game that – that, yes – could be decisive at home opposing. However, in the inaugural period of the match, the CAB did not accuse the pressure and entered the game better. Defensively, the Madeiran team was neutralizing the main weapons of the Conimbricense, while in the attack, João Freitas' men exhibited the patience and discernment needed to find the best launch options. So it wasn't a surprise when the first ten minutes ended with the CAB in advantage by 14-17. In the second period, the game scenario changed. The Academic appeared more aggressive and the Friends could not give an answer to the point. On the contrary, the launch selection, which was positive in the first part, was less effective for the CAB in the second half. Consequently, João Freitas players committed too many ball losses, which Coimbra athletes could convert into baskets in their favor. The interval came with the result in 32-27, favorable to those of the house. Resuming the game was more favorable to the formation of Academica, which tried to accelerate the match in the hope of gaining a more favourable advantage over the CAB. The Friends responded and tried to restore balance in the match, but the reaction was not what was expected nor what the CAB players certainly wanted. With little effectiveness in the external launches and unable to bill in the areas closest to the basket, the CAB reached the end of the third period to be lost by 53-47 before an Academic that seemed to be growing. In the last ten minutes of the meeting, the Academica went into a position against a CAB that seemed less concentrated. As a result, Coimbra players built an advantage that came to be 10 points, without the Friends showing signs of reacting. At this stage of the meeting, similar to what had happened in other moments of the match, Academica made its centimeters feel in the tables, guaranteed superiority in the offensives, which gave him repeated chances of attacking the basket of Friends, winning important points. On the CAB side, the answer did not arise and the distance to the Academic remained insurmountable until the end of the meeting. The end of the match came with the result in 76-58, a very heavy result for the CAB. The fourth game between Academica and CAB is played tomorrow at 4 pm, again in Coimbra. In the event of Academic victory, the CAB ends its time. In case the Friends win, the two teams will play a fifth and decisive game in Funchal on the next day 15, at 8 pm.
