The men's team at the CAB received Victoria's training. In the game of the first round, the Friends went to Guimarães to win the ones guided by Fernandos Sá, so the men from the north came to Madeira to redeem themselves from this outburst and impose their game on the locals. On the CAB side, the ambition was to win. However, the Friends knew that they could not count on Fábio Lima, away by knee injury, which limited their options, even given the excellent time that the extreme of the CAB and the National Selection is doing. Still, the aim of the Friends remained unchanged and passed by winning the continentals. The game began best for the home team, who came to be ahead for the result of 7-0. However, over time, the meeting took on greater balance and the teams ended their first time with the Victoria in front by the minimum margin (21-22). In the second half, the CAB had long minutes without scoring points, a fact that was used by Victoria to accumulate an advantage in the most significant marker. The difficulty of the Madeirans in finding the paths to the opposing basket was due both to the defensive merit of the continentals and to some lack of concentration of the Friends themselves, who paid ‘caro’ for this less good phase, collecting to the spas at a disadvantage by 36-50. In the third half, the CAB demonstrated a lot of delivery and determination to turn the result. However, the effort of the Friends found, on the other hand, a team of the Victory equally fierce and who was able to respond to the attacks of the Madeirans, reaching the third period ahead by 52-69. In the fourth period, the CAB managed to reduce the disadvantage to ‘only’ nine points, this approach, which led the supporters of the home team to believe that the twist was possible. However, Victoria did not falter, and in the face of a CAB that (truth be told...) also had some luck in some important bidding, managed to sentence its superiority by 67-89.
