This weekend, the CAB starts an exhibition cycle in the CAB Pavilion. Under the title ‘Month of Art’, the house of Friends will host four different exhibitions, each held on the four weekends of February. Thus, on the weekend of 7 and 8, the entity responsible for the exhibition will be the Art Department of the Francisco Franco School. On 14 and 15, the exhibition will be carried out by Madeiran artist Micaela Oliveira. Already on the 21st and 22nd it will be the turn of students of the Apel School to expose their work. To conclude, on the weekend of 28 February and 1 March, the work presented will be carried out by the Atelier of the Protector Association of the Poor. This is the first time CAB has provided its space for art exhibitions. In doing so, the club opens a new chapter in its area of activity, which is added to the work that the CAB already develops in the area of solidarity support, academic support and the practice of local gymnastics and Zumba for adults and children. In statements to the CAB’s Official Website, Francisco Gomes, chairman of the Board, noted, “The Month of Arts is another sign of the club’s opening to society and proof that the CAB is not exhausted in basketball.” To the leader of Friends, “We are a basketball club, but also an institution that sees itself as a convergence point for hundreds of families. Therefore, it makes perfect sense for us to promote initiatives such as exhibitions raise awareness of the importance of global training, which includes a sports component, of course, but also a cultural aspect.” Meanwhile, the club board has advanced that March will be dedicated to another theme, to announce later on related to the club's scope of activity, under which two major activities will be carried out in the CAB Pavilion.
