The male CAB team received Oliveirense's training in a match that took place in the CAB Pavilion. The two teams came from victories in the inaugural journey of the Men's League, played on Wednesday, with the victory of the Madeirans being won before the Sampaense while the victory of the players of Oliveira de Azeméis was against the Maia team. In the first half, the CAB entered better, especially in the attack, where the Friends showed great versatility. In the areas near the basket and also long distance, the house billed and well, building a punctual advantage that came to be 14 points. However, in the second half of the first half, Oliveirense had a strong reaction, ending the first 10 minutes to lose by the minimum margin (27-26). In the second period, Oliveirense was better able to extend the advantage over the CAB to the ten points. However, changes made in good time from the bank of the house allowed the CAB to take, again, the reins of the meeting and go to the interval to win the game by the result of 49-44, with emphasis on the performances of Alex Marzette (17) and Arvydas Gydra (12), by the CAB, and Elvis Évora (12) by the visitors. After the break, the CAB returned to the game with great desire to take over the game. However, the good performance of Friends was sometimes compromised by some defensive failures. For the same reason, visitors remained in the race, with the end of the third half arriving with the CAB leading by only one point (71-70). In the last time, the CAB dominated for most of the 10 minutes of the game, even building an interesting advantage over the opponent. However, in the last minutes of the meeting, some unexpected failures in the management of the ball by the house allowed the opponents to stall the match (88-88), result that reached the end of the meeting, forcing the extension. In the complementary time, the CAB demonstrated the patience and ‘cold blood’ that may have been lacking in some moments of the match. Additionally, the Friends demonstrated a remarkable spirit of unity and a truly felt determination, both by those in the field and by the bank. As a result, and with merit, the CAB won the game by 103-95. Oliveirense was a worthy loser, who never gave up the game and showed much character. In individual terms: Fabio Lima (24), Fred Gentry (13), Alex Marzette (25), Michael L’Africain (18), Arvydas Gydra (15), Stefan Djukic (6), Diogo Gameiro (2).
