For Francisco Gomes, president of the CAB-Madeira, "2013 was a year of turning in the financial structure of the CAB. As a result of several factors, including the redefinition of the Regional Sport Support Model, the CAB has reconsidered its financial organisation by setting targets and priorities to maintain the competitiveness of the club within a framework of mandatory and desirable sustainability." "This turning point is not yet complete, but it is being won daily, as we become aware that we can be both competitive and humble, and that in so doing we are leaving a very positive legacy to those who follow." At the sporting level, “2013 will be in memory as a year in which we saw the female senior team return to national titles, with the conquest of the Federation Cup, and the male senior team winning the best ranking ever in the regular phase.” "In training schools, which are our reason for being, the benefits were not perfect, but they were extremely positive in the sense that they encouraged us to rethink our role more rigorously as a Training Club. The events of the year have led to conclusions that, in turn, have stimulated changes in the functioning of our younger ranks. These changes are already being implemented successfully, because today, as a result of this awareness, the CAB has again mastered practically all the training levels in which it is, from minis to seniors, something that has not happened for a few years and that we want to continue in the near future". For 2014, the leader’s wish “is that we continue to be not just a club of weekend victories, but a club that lives from, and stops, day-to-day victories: athletes who are also good students, families we help, parents and mothers who identify with our Training Project, coaches and professionals who feel this club as their own. These are the victories I want most because, in reality, these are the achievements that matter most." “Toasts, many clubs have them, and are certainly worthy of respect. But the titles of Survival, Human Formation and Service to Others are only within reach of an elite who realizes that Sport only makes sense as a vector of social mobilization for causes. The CAB is in this elite and will stay there”. Source: Vasco Sousa, 'Jornal da Madeira'
