As part of the Women's Super Cup events, Gilda Correira will receive the Career Award, acknowledging the exceptional contribution she has made over the years to protuguese basketball. Gilda Correia, born in 1980, began her career at the age of twelve at the beginning of Esgueira (1992/93), having started to represent Illiabum in the following two seasons (1993/94 and 1994/95), already as cadet (Sub-16). In 1995/96 he moved to Anadia, where he spent four seasons (the last already senior in 1998/99), and was in the first year national junior champion (Sub-18) under the command of João Janeiro, current helmsman of AD Vagos. It was a golden period for Anadia, which snatched the national title of female juniors for three consecutive years (1995, 1995/96 and 1996/97). He moved to Coimbra, first wearing the Olivais jersey for three seasons (from 1999/2000 to 2001/2002) and then PT Coimbra (only in 2002/03), also under the command of João Janeiro, who reunited former Anadia players in this project. In 2003/04 he moved to the Madeira CAB, an emblem he represented during seven seasons (until 2009/10), when he ended his 18-year career as a practitioner. A complicated injury at Achilles tendon level forced her to abandon the modality at the age of 29 at the end of 2009. Gilda was international 47 times: 24 for the senior team and 6 for the university team (he was at the Beijing Universiades in the People's Republic of China in August 2001), the remaining being by the Sub-20 (4) and Sub-18 (13). His last internationalization was against Mozambique, in the finals of the Lusophonia Games in Macau (October 2006), won by Mozambicans, Carlos Portugal being the national selector. By the CAB Madeira won two Championships Consecutive Nationals (2004/05 and 2005/06), two Cups of Portugal (2005/06 and 2006/07), two Super Cups (2006/07 and 2007/08) and two Cups Vítor Hugo (2007/08 and 2008/09). Currently, ours Gilda is a physical education teacher and assistant coach of the senior team of CRCQ Lombos, also the main coach of the Sub-19 of the Lumbo emblem. The CAB Board expresses here all its pride in Gilda's brilliant career over the years and expresses the most sincere wishes for success in the roles it plays today. We know that, thanks to its work, commitment and determination, which has always demonstrated over the years, Gilda's horizons will always be broad and beautiful.
