The women's CAB team measured forces with the Coimbra Olives in the first half-final of the Federation Cup. In the other half-finals, Lombos was able to play with Benfica, and two games, we would know which sets would be found at the end of this trophy. The CAB started the game better, betting on a great defensive attitude and the bounce. The strategy had positive effects, leading the Friends to gain the first time by 17-11. The Madeirans had their main references in Joana Lopes, who scored 6 points in the initial period, and Ashley Bruner, who, with 9 points, led the list of the best notaries. In the second half, the CAB, which was in line with pink equipment, continued to demonstrate a good team spirit as well as collective work. With Ashley Bruner at large, in the attack, and with a defense that was causing difficulties to the Conimbricians, forcing them to make some forced throws, the Friends built a punctual advantage that, in the middle of the second period, was 28-14. By the end of the period, the CAB maintained its dominance under the pace of play, collecting to the locker rooms in front of the marker by 35-20. At this stage of the meeting, the list of the best annotators was dominated by Ashley Bruner (20), well supported by Joana Lopes (8). At Olivais, the most effective was the American Beynnon (13). On the return to the game, the CAB showed some deconcentration. Friends continued to keep Olivais at a considerable point distance, but in offensive terms the Madeiran team was showing nervousness at the time of completion, which was not contributing to the stability the team clearly needed. However, a more interventional action from the bank of coaches João Pedro and João Fernandes allowed the CAB to serene the spirits and reach the end of the third time ahead by 47-32. In the fourth and final period, the CAB regained its dominant identity, and, with effective action in defensive and defensive aspects, it managed to fully dominate the match. The result was a dilate of the point difference, which allowed the CAB to run all its players. By the end of the whistle, the CAB had surpassed the Olivais by 68-40. In individual terms: Joana Lopes (8), Ashley Bruner (25), Carla Freitas (1), Marta Bravo (2), Carolina Escorcio (12), Lavinia SIlva (16), Carla Relva (2), Cintia France (2).
