In an extremely competitive final, the Women's Team defeated Fifth Loins by 58-66 and won the Federation Cup. The evolution of the marker was as follows: 17-15 (1P), 32-30 (2P), 46-41 (3P) and 58-66 (final). The victory achieved by the CAB was essentially the result of a very well-assembled defensive strategy and a capacity to select its launches with great rigour. These weapons were used by the Paulo Freitas team to counter the advantage that the Lombos team had at the level of the height and the power of rebound. It was precisely in the jump chapter that the CAB team felt the biggest difficulties, with Lombos winning important balls in the CAB table, which later became second and third attempts at release. However, the CAB never gave up, remained in the race and was able, at the right time, to pull all its forces to gain an important advantage that was never reduced by the training guided by Zé Leite. The Loins team was a worthy winner. The Lisbon formation never gave up and its persistence was notorious the whole match. Lombos is a very strong team and it's no accident that they're one of the league's reference teams. But today was the day of the Madeirians. In great prominence in the CAB formation was Carmen Reynolds, who scored 22 points and was elected MVP of the final. In great form were also Jheri Booker (13 points) and Marta Bravo (13 points), who fought a lot against the top players of Quinta dos Lombos and gave the CAB an inexhaustible dose of claw and determination. Faty Freitas (7 points), Silvia Lopes (2 points), Maria João (5 points) and Carolina Escortius (4 points) also made a very important contribution. But for all intents and purposes, this achievement is a team victory, achieved by a group united by a very deep sense of Mission and by a spirit of sacrifice that is not common in any team. Under the guidance of Paulo Freitas, who wins a well-deserved title in a long coaching career, this team has been able to overcome numerous difficulties in reaching the level that has arrived. In the end, we express our congratulations to the working group and its leader, Coach Paulo Freitas. With much work and against so many adversities, this team has been able to fight, believe and bring into the field the spirit of struggle that also characterizes the way of being of the whole FAMILY CAB. Today, they took this FAMILY with them into the field... We've been with them and it's with great pride that we see these girls-women erect a Cup that they deserve with all, all justice. THANK YOU!!!...
