The CAB team was defeated by the Academic of Porto by 60-73. The result was verified in the semi-final of the National Cup of Sub-16 Males and that means, unfortunately, our boys won't be in the competition final, which is played tomorrow. The evolution of the demerger was as follows: 12-28 (1P), 22-39 (2P), 42-50 (3P) and 60-73 (final). Tony Freitas' team entered the game clearly nervous and with difficulty in moving to the game arena the plan they had studied since Madeira. It was a less successful entry and gave rise to a difference in the marker that would become costly throughout the match. In the second period, the totality remained, with the Friends showing some reaction, but unable to reach the Academic players punctually. The return of the locker rooms was positive for the CAB, which carried out a remarkable spot recovery and ended the third period to be lost by 'only' eight points (42-50). In the final period of the game, the CAB was clearly superior to the Academic and reached the four points of difference. However, at that time, the great difference in the competitive pace among players in the field came to the top, with athletes coming from Porto preserving their advantage and carimabre the passport for the Cup final. Despite the result, the feeling of the Club and the whole FAMILY CAB towards these athletes can only be of great pride. These boys felt the whole reality of what it is to be an islander basketball player: they traveled late in the game, reached the final destination by the time they passed two in the morning, their tickets were costed (with great sacrifice) by their families, and finally played against a team with a clear advantage in terms of pace of play. Note, as a comparative example, that the Academic has reached this stage having already played 47 games and Algés, who was also present, has already played 52 games this time. By contrast, the CAB performed less than 10 matches After all, our boys beat themselves up bravely, honored the sweater they wear and left everything they have in the field. At the end of the game, a lot of them were in tears, hugging their coach and leader, because they know, as we all know, that they deserved to go further, for everything they sacrificed to get to this point. But for us, they are Champions, they are our Heroes and we believe that if they continue to work, they will bring much more joy to this Club and to FAMILY CAB. Congratulations, as well as your coach, who does everything for this team, and the families of athletes, whose sacrifice has allowed the team to reach this final stage and live the joy of having these young people represent us at the highest level. For all this, our words can only be of happiness because we have in our Club players and families who believe in the CAB project, who know that it is worth betting on Training and who guarantee, day after day, that Training is and will always be the reason for this Great Club. Congratulations!
