The women's CAB team went to Lousada to play the second game of a double journey, after, on the eve, having defeated the formation of the Academy of Porto. The match began best for the locals, who took advantage of the excess of permissiveness and relaxation of the CAB players, reprehensible attitudes when playing with defined goals. Lousada, with merit, exposed the defensive weaknesses that were being demonstrated by Madeirans, clearly below their normal performance. Even so, a break from the Friends closing the period allowed them to reach the end of the first ten minutes in advantage of the marker by 21-24. In the second half, Lousada bet on a strategy that is common to CAB opponents, which is to press the Friends base to the whole field. Adding to this defensive strategy, the house group continued to try their luck in the outer shot, showing that it was on an afternoon of effectiveness. Friends weren't intimidated, and they responded to that. Even after a technical foul was mentioned to the visitors' bank, by protests after a sequence of moves that left doubts in the CAB technicians, the Madeirans raised the quality of their basketball and reached the break to win by 40-47. At this stage of the meeting, Ashley Bruner (16 points, 8 points) and Kristen Mann (13 points, 1 points) led the list of the best scorers and the best scorers. The CAB also dominated the highlights (26 gains against 16 of the opponents), even if it was lower than Lousada in the percentages of use of two points and three points. On the return of the locker rooms, the house continued to bet everything on the outside launch, chapter where they were having much more effectiveness than the CAB. Friends continued to display a form far from what is usual to them, a factor that the locals exploited with merit to gradually reduce the punctual difference, which was only four points (55-59) when half the third half had been played. Without doing much for it, the CAB managed to shake the pressure of home formation and show sketches of basketball that it can actually practice in the field. As expected, punctual leadership increased, with the third period ending with the result in 61-71, in favor of island visitors. In the last period, the CAB showed greater defensive and offensive concerns, not only forcing the home team to various ball losses and forced throws, but also choosing better attack options. With the two American athletes in great shape, well seconded by Joana Lopes and Lavinia Silva, the Amigas kept their distance from Lousada, winning the game by 82-92. In individual terms: Ashley Bruner (32), Kristen Mann (27), Joana Lopes (11), Lavinia Silva (10), Marta Bravo (5), Carla Freitas (7). Men's Team stamp passport for 'Final 8' of the Portuguese Cup The men's team faced, in Funchal, the formation of Atlético, in play counting for the Cup of Portugal. The visiting team presented themselves without their main weapons, which did not even travel with the team, factor, which in no way reduced the surrender to the game of the CAB. The game began best for the CAB, which quickly imposed its pace of play. In fact, in the whole first part, the match was one of a kind, in favour of friends. At the end of the first period, the point difference was already 31-18, a factor that allowed the CAB coach, in the second period, to give minutes of play to the less used athletes. In this sense, to register the debut, in games of the senior male team, by João Fernandes, who entered the game very well, showing maturity and disinhibition. The young athlete was accompanied by Carlos Bettencourt, Gonçalo Miranda, Frederico Tavares and Miguel Martins, all of the ‘B’ team of Friends, who took responsibility for the game until the break, which arrived with the CAB to win by 65-43.
