The women's CAB team fulfilled the second game of a double journey that began yesterday with a victory over Benfica. Today, the Friends went a little further north, facing the formation of Torres Novas. The game began best for the Madeirans, who won the first half for 15-19. Although they did not enter the game in the best way, as several releases failed, the good defensive posture of the CAB players allowed to close the mismatch of the first minutes. As the minutes passed, the friends became more effective, which allowed them to complete the first partial in front of the marker. In the second period, the Novas towers applied great pressure on the CAB to reverse its position on the marker. The CAB resisted well, betting on a very strong defense that the continentals have difficulty breaking. In the attack, the ones guided by João Freitas managed to convert almost then four triple launches, which allowed them to put the marker in 23-32, when they were four minutes away from the interval, forcing the local coach to ask for a time-out. The break in the game did the house team good and 'less well' to the CAB, because in the minutes that followed, Torres Novas was better than the Madeirans and managed to find ways to the basket at the guard of the Amigas. In fact, thanks to this good performance in the minutes before the break, the sites won the partial (19-18), but overall, at the interval, the leadership remained of the CAB by 34-37. In the reign of the game, the CAB entered stronger, but Torres Novas' response came soon after, reestablishing balance in the game. Proof of this is the fact that, in the middle of the period, the result was 44-46, in favour of Madeirans. However, two minutes later, several missed releases by the Friends gave the locals the chance to move ahead of the result, which came to happen when three minutes before the end of the third period, with the marker to mark 48-46, in favor of the house. Dissatisfied with the course of events, João Freitas asked for a time-out to try to serene the team. However, the pause did not generate the desired effect, because, at the end of the period, the CAB remained behind in the marker by 53-50, the result of a third less achieved time, which the Madeirans lost by 19-13. In the fourth half, the CAB was better than Torres Novas' team, both in defensive aspects and in attack, demonstrating great group spirit and capacity for sacrifice. Despite the good performance of the Friends, Torres Novas never gave up and proved why he is doing a great time. In fact, three minutes from the end, the game was still tied (63-63) and with an uncertain end, such the determination of the two teams within the field. At the end of the meeting, there were several draws and alternations of leadership for the advantage of a point. It was an authentic game of nerves and high tension, unfit for cadiacs... But we must commend the combative attitude of Madeiran players, who never gave up, never stopped believing and gave what they had and what they did not have to deserve the victory. This came, by irons, with a basket 14 seconds from the end, which allowed the CAB to win by 72-73.
