The participation of the Men's Sub-14 Team in the X International Lighthouse Tournament began best. The young Friends, who traveled this morning to Porto, faced the Israeli team of Hapoel in the afternoon and won the game by 56-25. The game against Hapoel was very important to the CAB, not only because it was the first game of an international event, but also because it was a game against a foreign team, a factor that weighed in the subconscious of our players, faced with an experience that, until today, was unique to our young athletes, which was to play against a foreign team. The CAB was very well during the game, mastering the rhythm of events from the very first moment. Proof of this is the evolution of the marker, which was the following: 25-4 (1p), 33-10 (range), 45-24 (3p) and 56-25 (final). With knowledge and a lot of collective play, the Madeirans affirmed their superiority to the Israelites, who never threatened the superiority of the CAB in the marker. However, the importance of the game goes also to what happened before the game. In a true example of sportsmanship and companionship, players from both teams lived together (see photo of the news) and there was even time for a joint photograph. Sport often manages to unite what societies separate... and we are very happy that our 'boys' have today been true ambassadors of the spirit of unity and peace that must reign among countries. Congratulations, boys, on the important victory - on and off the field! Tomorrow, the CAB will play again. This time, the Friends will face Braga, by 3pm.
