This summer, the CAB returns and organizes the ‘CAB Elite Camp’. The event, which will last two weeks, divided into two sessions, is a privileged opportunity for club athletes to train at the highest level and improve fundamental aspects of their game. The 2015 edition of the ‘CAB Elite Camp’ will be guided by João Paulo Silva, coach of the male senior team. The first meeting will take place from 13 to 17 July and the second from 20 to 24 July. The participation will be made by invitation of the Club Coordination. In statements to the official CAB website, Coach João Paulo Silva explained the fundamental objectives of ‘Elite Camp’, stressing, “It is an initiative that aims to strengthen the technical work developed throughout the sports season. Through the observation of the athletes’ capabilities in the different ranks, a careful selection of some elements will be made that will be integrated into their activity.” On the work done in training, the CAB Training Coach and Coordinator advances, “This will be a field dedicated to the improvement of technical skills, thus allowing an increase in the quality of our athletes during the sports season. This initiative is part of a sports training process that aims to gradually frame these athletes in the professional team. Starting this process at younger age groups makes it possible to increase the working time dedicated to determining content so that this framework is achieved effectively.” Already on the contribution of initiatives such as the ‘CAB Elite Camp’ to the future of the club, namely senior teams, João Paulo Silva is clear in his observations, noting, “This is another initiative that aims to ensure the sustainability of top teams. I understand that it is essential to ensure that goals are met at the level of the training process, that they qualify our athletes for better integration into a demanding competition.” Explaining the process of running the field, the coach of the male team explains, “Let’s briefly develop the ‘Elite Camp’ technical program, involving our training coaches. We want it to be clear to our athletes that coaches remain the most important elements of this process. Technical coordination will be my responsibility, thus ensuring that the work between the different levels is connected according to the models outlined for each of the respective levels.”
