Club and coach renew bond for 2014/2015

João Pedro Vieira will continue to lead the women's CAB team in the 2014-2015 season. The renewal of the link between the club and the coach was agreed, ensuring that the coach will continue in command of the team that most national titles have been joining the Palmares of the Friends of the Basketball. João Pedro, who is already eighteen years old in the service of the CAB, will immediately begin the preparation of the new era, which the CAB addresses with ambition. "Renewing the bond means that the club trusts my work and that means a lot to me. Continuing with the senior female team also means more responsibility, especially after winning the Portuguese Cup at this time. But it also means another opportunity to continue doing what I like to do best, which is to be a coach, with a group I know very well and for which I have great affection," said the 45-year-old technician to the CAB Official Site. As for the goals for the new era, João Pedro notes, "The CAB is a club that, due to its history in women's basketball in Portugal, must always be involved in the title dispute. Even with all the difficulties, I accepted the challenge of trying again to bring to the CAB at least one of the five trophies in dispute in 2014/15. We have a team with a mix of experienced athletes and other very young people, but I hope that the work done last season will also bring its fruit to this new challenge and that we will be able to 'launch' young people who want to work and fight for a place in the senior CAB team."
