Next Saturday, May 10, the CAB-Madeira brings the joy of basketball to the Forum Madeira. Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., players from Mini-8 and Mini-10 teams, as well as members of Baby's training, will train on the central board of the Forum, demonstrating that the contagious rhythm of Basketball can be taken to all contexts, including shopping centers. The action, promoted in partnership by the CAB-Madeira and the Forum, aims to promote the modality of basketball, instill healthy lifestyle habits in the younger ones and allow interested people to know the Family Training Role CAB. To this end, interested children may join the activities that the Club will promote and test their ability to run and shoot. This initiative follows other events that the CAB-Madeira has promoted throughout the year, always in an perspective of disseminating the sport modality and the training role. For example, in November, the CAB organized the fourth edition of ‘A Basket for a Cause’, which brought together several Canadian celebrities in a charity game in favor of the League Against Cancer. More recently, in February, the CAB organised, in partnership with the Naval Club, an Aquatic Basketball Tournament, and in April, the Friends promoted a street basketball tournament that took hundreds of practitioners to Sea Square. According to Francisco Gomes, president of the CAB, “The presence in the Forum is, above all, an opportunity for us to make known our Training Mission, that is, our goal of, using basketball, training children and young people for Life”. For the head of the CAB FAMILY, “Sport only makes sense if it is viewed in a Training Perspective, and not only as a competitive practice. We bet on disclosing the modality with the younger ones, because we believe that through basketball practice, they can acquire important values and principles, as well as unique experiences.”
