After the 'Art Month', an initiative that led to four exhibitions in the CAB Pavilion, the CAB starts the 'Prevention Month', an initiative that will take place during the month of March and that will lead to the realization, in the CAB Pavilion, of initiatives aimed at preventing drug use. The ‘Art Month’ is the product of a partnership between the CAB and the Additive Behavior Operational Unit (UCAD), an entity that, in the region, leads the work in the area of the fight against drugs. Thanks to the work of the two institutions, the CAB Pavilion will host a debate on prevention on 17 March. Already on 21 March, it will be time for familiar faces of society to face the cause of prevention in the ‘Prevention Game’. Adding to these two initiatives, the CAB will also promote weekly on its Official Facebook Profile images of its athletes associated with messages that appeal to the fight against drugs. Thus, some of the elements of senior teams agreed to associate in this way with a struggle that belongs to everyone. In statements to the CAB website, Francisco Gomes, president of Friends, spoke of the initiatives scheduled, observing, “Because we are an institution that contacts hundreds of children, young people and families daily, it is our duty to assume a role in leadership against drugs and addictive behaviors.” “To say that Deporto is incompatible with drug use is a reality that we all know. We need to go further in raising people’s awareness of an endless fight that is important, not only for people exposed to this problem, but for society as a whole, because drugs are a social problem and whose existence only limits our collective civilizational progress.”
