When only four days left for the end of the regular phase of this edition of LPB, Cab and Benfica measured training in the CAB Pavilion in Funchal. The match, which began late due to the late departure of Lisbon from the flight on which the arbitration team was travelling, promised to be a good basketball show given the history of well played matches between the two formations. Although it is well known that Benfica has financial arguments that no other League team has, the CAB wanted to play eye-to-eye with the Lisboners and would do anything to make a good replica of itself. The CAB got into the game pretty bad. Friends have made gaps that they do not normally make in defense, which allowed Benfica to exploit, with merit, his strengths, especially the inner game, where he clearly has advantage over the CAB. In the attack, the CAB was also very perdulious, failing throws that usually do not fail and demonstrating some carelessness in the management of ball possession. No surprise, the first period ended with the marker on 11-27, in favor of visitors. In the second period, the CAB reacted well. Without making a big game, as the Friends team continued to fail releases that cannot be forgiven in front of an opponent like Benfica, the CAB reduced the difference in the scorer to less than 10 points, bringing rhythm and enthusiasm at the start. However, in the last 3 minutes of the second half, the CAB broke again physically and animously and Benfica, again with merit, returned to the domain of the match, dilating the punctual difference to the 14 points, with which it reached the interval, namely 34-48, in favour of the Lisboners. On the return of the locker rooms, the CAB fully dominated the rhythm and direction of the game. The united and collective game of Friends worked very well, not only getting several ball robberies, but also, in the attack, finding the best options to attack the opponent's basket. In Benfica, the tendency was to play for their poles, which had to assume almost all the responsibility of scoring points. The CAB won the third half by the result of 27-18, however the horn arrived with the marker in 61-66, in favor of visitors. In the fourth period, the CAB Pavilion continued to witness a great basketball game. The two teams turned themselves in at the start, with good and spectacular moves from side to side. The sport was undoubtedly dignified from this afternoon's game. Unsurprisingly, given what happened in the field, the teams split almost the points of the fourth period (23-25), which was, in the end, insufficient for the CAB, which it essentially lost due to the lower provision of the first two periods. The game ended with the result in 84-91, in favor of Benfica. Despite the result, FAMILY CAB has every reason to feel enormous pride in its senior athletes and their respective coaches. Today, the team has once again proved that they are a group that is governed by work, dedication and collective. With your attitude and delivery at the start, our athletes are real examples of how to be in basketball. This is worthy of record and praise. Well there!
