Social Communication and Basketball Friends in Unpublished Front-to-Face

A selection of journalists and other media-related people will measure forces in the basketball field with a group of senior CAB athletes. The unpublished game will take place on the 29th, Wednesday, at 7:00 p.m., in the CAB Pavilion and will serve to demonstrate if some of the best-known names of the Madeiran media can have more skill than the Basketball Friends when it plays the basket. Among the names already confirmed are Ricardo Oliveira, Nuno Bazenga Marques, Paulo Almada, Gil Rosa, Juan Andrade, Marta Caires, Miguel Ângelo, Marsílio Aguiar, Marta Caires, Paulo Lopes, Marco Freitas and Marco Cabral, among others. The game, properly called ‘CAB in the News’, will also feature the collaboration of João Pedro Vieira and João Paulo Silva, coaches of the women’s team and the men’s team of the CAB, respectively, who will guide the two groups of ‘players’. In statements to the CAB Official Site, Francisco Gomes, president of the club, noted: “Sports depends on the media for its projection and affirmation as competition and as a school of values. Therefore, bringing together athletes and personalities of the media makes perfect sense and we are confident that we will have good moments of camaraderie and good disposition.”
