It wasn't a happy weekend for friends. After a defeat against Lousada due to a triple in the last second of the match, the CAB again lost today, this time before Vagos, and again by the minimum margin, namely 68-67. The evolution of the marker was as follows: 19-11 (1P), 36-32 (2P), 55-53 (3P) and 68-67 (final). Friends got into the game badly, with less positive benefits in the first two periods. This allowed Vagos to stay ahead of the game. Adding to this, it is necessary to note the sports merit of Vagos, who was able to take advantage of the greatest passivity of the CAB in the defensive chapter, which is a problem that Madeiran players had already highlighted in the previous game and that would show throughout the game. In the second part, the CAB demonstrated greater determination and a remarkable team spirit, with athletes turning their heart and soul to the game and playing each play. Friends had a good time in the second twenty minutes, and with any luck they could have returned to Madeira with a victory in their luggage, something they certainly deserved. However, the greatest dexterity that the CAB revealed in the attack was not accompanied by an equally effective defense delivery. On the contrary, the CAB players were often overtaken by the Vagos athletes, who explored the weaknesses of the CAB in defending their own basket. The exclusion of Justina Udenze's departure also did not help, taking height and ability to jump to the formation of the CAB. In a way of balance, to highlight, in the positive, the team spirit of the CAB players, which is strong and which denotes that this group is united, either in good times or in the least good ones, as was the case this weekend. This is a good beginning for the coming time of effort. On the less good side, the young CAB team accuses severe defensive needs that have to be met - and that will certainly be amended, because the team is guided by two great coaches and is formed by athletes with talent and determination. We again express all our confidence and pride in our athletes and bermoe, ALL, in the CAB Pavilion, next Saturday, to support 'our girls' in the match against Lombos. Let's go! We'll win the next battles! In individual terms: Cintia France (5 points), Ana Jardim (1 jump), Monica Luis, Marta Bravo (17 points, 7 points), Christian Shelter (13 points, 14 points), Catarina Freitas (5 points, 4 points), Justina Udenze (16 points, 10 points) and Carolina Escorcio (11 points, 8 points).
