The male CAB team received the Azorean formation of Lusitania in the second game of the Second Phase of the Professional League. After the victory in the first game, against Maia, the Friends wanted to take away the visitors and thus cement their chances of maintaining in the League and still nourish the hope of reaching the playoffs, an objective still very concrete. On the other hand, the Azoreans did not come to Madeira with the will to facilitate life to the CAB and promised to fight until the end. The CAB didn't play well, and with five minutes to go, it was losing by 9-14. The less successful provision of the CAB was essentially due to defensive failures. However, the Madeiran team reacted and made the adjustments it had to make. By the end of the first period, the Friends moved ahead and finished the first ten minutes ahead by 26-19. In the second period, Friends were more consistent and defensively dominated the visiting team. In the attack, the game continued to flow to the Madeirans, who alternated well the inner game with outdoor releases. However, in the final straight line of a time that was even going very well, a number of consecutive slips in the CAB defense allowed Lusitania to score several points without response, reaching the interval with the marker in 48-37, still in favor of the home team. In the third half, the CAB was poorly inspired, losing the partial by 20-28. Visitors had the merit of successfully exploring flaws that the house defense had not allowed during much of the first half and returned to 'enter' in the game. From the CAB, there was no answer expected. The fourth period accentuated the decline of the CAB, especially in defensive aspects, because, in the attack, the Madeirans were able to put the ball in the basket, as is confirmed by the high number of points of Madeirans throughout the game (88). However, the decision of the meeting was referred to the last 5 seconds of the meeting, when, with the game tied, the Friends sent an opponent player to the free throw line, who did not forgive the slip and paved the way for the victory of Lusitania by 88-92.
