The third day of the CAB Tournament began with a series of very competitive games in which emotions were at the forefront. In Camp 1, Algés, national sub-16 women's team, confronted the home team, guided by Zé costa. In a game with a lot of rhythm and uncertainty on the scorer, the good performance of visitors, especially in the section of the launch selection, determined the victory by 49-55. Despite being well defended, the ‘Friends’ failed to counter the opponents, who won with all justice. In the field 2, CAB ‘A’ and Gaia, in the sub-16 male level, lived a physical and competitive game, which ended up tied to 71 points. The extension came, with the CAB team being truly devastating, scoring 7 points unanswered from the opponent. The game ended the victory of the men of the house by 78-71. In field 3, the Ana Club of the Azores and Ovarense measured forces. Among these two women's sub-16 teams, he led the better formation of Ovar, who won the game by 28-38. Undoubtedly a well-deserved, yet hard-working, continental team victory. At 12 noon, CAB “B” and SIMECQ were faced in the sub-16 male ranks. They beat the Madeirans by 59-57. In the afternoon, the CAB Pavilion once again vibrated with three games simultaneously. In field 1, CAB and SIMECQ of sub-14 males faced, with victory smiling at SIMECQ for 52-55. In field 2, the dispute was between the teams of the CAB and Gaia “B” of sub-14 males. This time, the victory was the host club, for the expressive result of 96-14. In field 3, the athletes of Galomar and Francisco Franco, of female sub-14, offered a well played game, but with the victory to fall for those oriented by Paulo Lourenço (Galomar) by 55-31. After this series of three games, a new round followed, again three matches. The CAB Pavilion was on the rise, crowded with athletes and in charge of education cheering for their favorite teams. In field 1, the female sub-16s of SIMECQ and Algés measured forces, with the victory coming out to the Algés side for the result of 48-60. In field 2, the sub-16 men of the CAB and Francisco Franco played a spectacular game, with the winners being the boys of the CAB. At the end of this exciting match the scorer scored 60-55. In field 3, the female sub-16s of the CAB and the Ana Club played, and the victory in this insular clash went to the house club for the result of 71-43. In the last games of the day, the sub-16 male CAB “B” and Gaia measured forces in field 1. The victory went to the side of the CAB, which won the game by 64-48. In the field 3, in the sub-14 male class, the Francisco Franco School and Gaia “A” had a front-to-front, with the game going to the side of the school club, which won the match by the result of 74-6. At the end of the day, and after the dinner period, boys and girls of all club colors tested their dance skills to the sound of the greatest hits of the moment. At nightfall, and taking as a backdrop the beautiful line of the southern coast of Madeira, the night exploded with joy, with rhythm, and, above all, with much camaraderie, in the style of the CAB Tournament. Nice to see! Tomorrow is activity day outside the Pavilion. In the morning, the tournament moves to Sea Square, where an exciting 3x3 street basketball tournament will be played, which will test the talent of the basketball players of the asphalt tournament. It is noteworthy that the teams of this 3x3 are formed by athletes from different teams, in a true ‘party’ of inter-club friendship. In the afternoon, the athletes, coaches and staff of the CAB Tournament will take part in an orienteering game called ‘Discover the Treasures of Funchal’. A ‘red wave’ is expected to fill the city of Funchal, projecting the dynamism of the Tournament and the joy of its participants for the beautiful city of Funchal. In the evening, and back to the Pavilion, the tournament athletes will have the opportunity to speak with two of the most international Portuguese basketball players, namely Zé Costa, the base of the men's team of the CAB, and Faty Freitas, the base of the women's team of Friends. In an open conversation with two sports stars, all CAB Tournament athletes can ‘learn’ the ‘secrets’ of the sport with those who play at the highest level. No doubt a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and not to lose!
