CAB and Sportive Union, from the Azores, faced a match regarding the ninth Women's League. One of the big issues that was posed by the following women's basketball was whether the defense of the Amigas would be able to stop the offensive engine of Jhasmin Player, the female team's reference player. The other question that was on the table was whether the CAB, a team with arguments clearly superior to those of the Azoreans, would be able to play as a cohesive team and lead forward to Sportiva. The first period went well for the home team, which won the first ten minutes for the result of 20-18. The Amigas game, not always perfect, was running with greater fluidity than Sportiva's provision, the result not only of greater success in the attack options, but also of a positive defensive provision. If, in the attack, Maria João and Justina Udenze were being the best references of the house team, already in defense Carolina Escorcio and Marta Bravo were showing up as those who but were able to stop the opposing athletes. In the second period, the Azores team was more aggressive, with Jhasmin Player taking over almost all of the visitors' attack options. Eclipsing all other teammates, Player assumed almost all attack options, reaching the interval with 25 points already scored. However, their work remained insufficient for the collective strong play of the Friends, which, showing a great spirit of surrender and unity, continue to implement their system. Although Maria João and Justina Udenze were having problems with absences (each one was already missing 3 times the interval), the CAB was able to explore its various options and reached the interval to win by 48-40. The question that was on the air was whether, with so many faults, the CAB would be able to contain Player's offensive avalanche and continue to follow the game model that was giving the most results or whether it would see its aspirations at the start compromised by excluding its main athletes. On the return of the locker rooms, the Sportiva team was better, which won the period by 17-16. This result was essentially the product of a lesser defensive performance on the part of the CAB. In the third period, the CAB was much less dominant at the level of the caveats and also showed some disorientation in the attack, exploiting its weapons only to spaces. The merit of the visitors and the least success of the locations caused the end of the period to arrive with the marker in 64-57. In the fourth period, the CAB was in large and presented a high-level basketball. Maria João, who was well throughout the game, took over the match and once again showed that she is the best Portuguese player in the League. Both in the long-distance launches, both in the conduct of the attacks and in the guidance of the team, our Maria was huge, was decisive, was leader. Proof of that is the fact that the game ended with nothing more than 36 points, 6 points, 4 assists and 4 ball robberies. Very well was also Justina Udenze (24 points, 14 caveats), who again made his presence felt in the areas near the basket, dominating who stood up to him. In this game, the American gave evidence that it is a strong presence in the attacking and defensive posture of the Friends. As a balance sheet, congratulations are on the whole team, which worked as a very cohesive block, revealing that it is turning over the less favorable situations that affected it at the beginning of the season. Whether the players who played the most, or the ones who played the least time proved that they are an integral and important part of this team and that the future can (and will be!) smiley for the CAB team. On birthday, FAMILY CAB thanks you for the gift! Cintia France (6 points, 3 points), Carla Relva (2 points, 3 points), Yasminne Chermiti, Diana Melim, Monica Luis, Marta Bravo (8 points, 2 points), Maria Joao (36 points, 6 points, 4 assists, 4 steals ball), Christian Shelter (11 points, 8 points), Catarina Freitas (1 strike), Justina Udenze (24 points, 14 points), Carolina Escorcio (5 points, 7 points).
