The opening game of the Final 8 of the Cup of Portugal, this Thursday, in Fafe, puts face to face the CAB and the Vitória de Guimarães. The islanders took the competitive break to recover some players who were injured and are prepared, according to the Portuguese post, to put into practice the maximum used by the team in all competitions: win all games. Are injuries the main explanation for this less positive period of BAC? Injuries are never an excuse for anything, because they happen in sports. Of course, if you have to make adjustments, sometimes you move on to the chemistry and automation of the team, and you have to work to get all that right. In a short squad like ours, these adjustments are more noticeable, but as they say, they only need who is. And I like to focus on the positive, we went to the final of the League Cup, we are in the top places of the ranking, we qualify to play the Cup of Portugal and we are in very good position to ensure a good place to play the League playoff. Did this competitive stop come at the best time? For us it was good, because we had more time to recover players and prepare the first game. Do you believe that the fact that they have more player rotation allows them to approach this competition with greater optimism? In tests of this type to eliminate sometimes the fact that there is greater rotation may not have much influence in the first game, but the rest is one of the crucial factors. With regard to optimism, I think that regardless of having many or few players, optimism and motivation must always be there, as well as wanting it. Starting this race again with Victory is a good omen? It's neither good nor bad. Victory is an excellent team, just like all the others. And here there are no "easy" games anymore, so it's fighting a game against whoever it is. Is the Pedro Pinto base the key to conditioning Victoria's success? Pedro is one of the keys, and despite being making a very good time, Victoria has an excellent team and all players have to be respected in the same way, because that is the only way to win. Have you set any goals for this Final 8? Our goal is to win every game we play, whether in the cup, the championship, or the playoff. Source: FPB website
