João Paulo Silva's team will measure forces with British Midnight Madness

The great novelty was given by the CAB Board, which revealed exclusively to the CAB Official Site that the Men's Team of Friends will be integrated into the CAB Cup, measuring forces with the Midnight Madness male squad, a selection of athletes from the English Professional League. The event, which takes place in Funchal from 17 to 20 September, had already guaranteed the presence of the women's formations of Spar (Gran Canaria), CREF Hola (Madrid), Ciudad Adelantados (Tenerife) and Midnight Madness (London), as well as the women's team of the CAB. After a dialogue with the British team of Midnight Madness, the CAB Directorate ensured that the men's training of that English club will also make their way to Madeira, on the indicated dates, to compete three games with the men's team of the CAB. The three matches are scheduled for 17 September (at 4:00 p.m.), 18 September (also at 4:00 p.m.) and 19 September (at 8:00 p.m.). All games will take place in the CAB Pavilion and will be integrated into the CAB Cup, as a serious in independent dispute, with the winner being the team that wins the most games. All games are open to the public. The arrival of the Midnight Madness men's team raises to over a hundred the number of athletes involved in the CAB Cup. The event, which had already taken on a very interesting character given the number and quality of the teams confirmed in the female sector, thus assumes an even larger dimension, stating itself as one of the most important pre-season tournaments in Portugal in the senior league. "We are very happy with the arrival of Midnight Madness's male training, not only because it will provide good preparation for the time of our male squad, but also because it affirms with greater emphasis the international character of the CAB Cup and the prestige that is recognized in our club by other institutions across borders," said Francisco Gomes, president of the CAB. According to the leader of Friends, "It is a great pleasure to be able to offer our senior teams and all Madeirans the enthusiasm of an international senior basketball tournament with more than one hundred participating athletes. We will do everything to ensure that the event is, above all, a projection of the institutional greatness of the CAB, the quality of Portuguese basketball and the beauty of the destination Madeira."
