The afternoon of games at the CAB Pavilion opened with the male team to face the formation of Galitos, in another game to count for the Professional League. The game began best for the home team, which, with less than three minutes of play, scored eight points without response. But Galitos reacted and reached the end of the first half ahead by 17-18. Second period. The CAB printed a very strong rhythm to the game and revealed immense aggressiveness in the fight for setbacks. With merit, the attack of the CAB also proved to be more effective than that of the Lisboners, and, without surprise, in the face of what took place in the field, the interval arrived with the Friends in front for 38-34. In the third period, the CAB reprinted a very strong rhythm to the game. The Friends were able to resist well the offensive attacks of Galitos, who also showed great spirit of struggle, and reached the end of the third time to win by 63-58. In the fourth and last time, the CAB showed great serenity, especially in the most difficult moments. The Madeirans were very well in charge of the rhythm of the game, managing the times of attack and presenting a very cohesive defense. With intelligence, the CAB never let Galitos pass ahead of the marker, and in the end secured victory for the result of 90-75. In individual terms: Aaron Jordan (17), Jose Correia (3), Tommie Eddie (18), Stefan Djukic (12), Jovoni Schuler (22), Jorge Coelho (15), Frederico Tavares (3). After the boys, it was the turn of the ladies to take the central field to face the formation of GDESSA, in a match that was very balanced given the losses in the formation of the house and the history of meetings between the two formations, which denotes great equality. The game began best for visitors, who won the first period by 17-20. GDESSA was very good at exploring its strengths and limiting the ability to play the CAB, which seemed lost, tired and without ideas. In addition, the group was accusing the absence of Carolina Escortius, from outside with a foot injury, especially in the defensive aspect, where it denoted lack of coherence and attitude. In the second period, the CAB was more patient and better explored its attack options. Without showing great brilliance, the CAB was more competitive and reached the interval with a tie of 37 points. In the fight for the tables, the CAB took advantage, with 26 points gained against 15 of GDESSA. At this stage of the meeting, the most effective by the Friends was Carla Freitas, with 12 points, well supported by Ashley Bruner (9) and Lavinia Silva (6). On returning to the game, the CAB tried to impose its pace of play more and more. Friends began to remember the team we used to, with Marta Bravo taking on a leading role in ‘starting’ the team’s collective engine. Nevertheless, the period ended with an advantage of two points (49-47) over visitors. In the fourth period, the CAB was finally equal to itself. When this happens, friends, even limited, are a very strong group and that is what was seen. With more dynamic and intelligence than they had previously revealed, the CAB took over the game and dominated both sides of the field. The GDESSA never gave up, but in the end, the victory was from the Madeirans by 73-62. In individual terms: Ashley Bruner (21), Carla Freitas (21), Joana Lopes (8), Marta Bravo (8) and Sara Barreira (2).
