CAB and Maia met in Funchal for another LPB journey. At the outset, the house team was holding a major setback, as Ricky Franklin, the team's best scorer and leader of the league's best scorers, would have to stay out of it because he's fighting signs of pneumonia. Therefore, the big question that was asked was whether Friends would be able to compensate for the lack of 'weight' and to take the formation of Maia, or whether, on the contrary, they would yield to the weight of a hard test without one of their main players. The CAB got very badly into the game, accusing, in excess, the lack of an athlete capable of thinking about the attack and coordinating the team's movements. The spaces, the team of the house manage to carry out some attacks, but in the initial stage of the meeting, the points of the CAB came more from individual initiatives than from a fluid game. On the other side, Maia was aggressive and dominating the meeting. At the end of the first period, the result was 17-20. The second period was bad for both teams, who passed the first meth of the period without being able to score points. It was being a sad basketball show, but even worse for the fans who were in the pavilion, who witnessed the house team sinking in the match and unable to respond. Jobi Wall's fourth foul came to worsen the game conditions of the Madeirans, who saw conditioning one of their main pitchers. The entrances of Zé Correia and Carlos Bettencourt gave the team some encouragement and it was these two players, trained in the CAB, who brought rhythm and dynamics to the match. His example was followed by Fabio Lima and the other athletes, with the CAB finally being competitive in the fight for tables and scoring points. The interval arrived with the marker in 26-27, still favorable to the continentals, leaving everything open for the second part of the meeting. On their return to the game, Jobi Wall and Fabio Lima gave 'an air of his grace' and scored several consecutive points that allowed the CAB to pass, even for moments, to the front of the marker. In the defensive chapter, Aaron Anderson and Edson Rosario were also giving the locals a kind of solidity and presence that they had missed in the first part. Still, the Maia did not disarm and won the period by 18-19, and the teams entered the fourth and final period with the marker in 44-46, in favor of visitors. In the last period, the CAB again showed great difficulty in organizing the game. The entries of Jorge Freitas and Jorge Coelho - back to the competition after long months of absence - did not bring inspiration to a group that today was far below what is normally. In all statistical data, the CAB was dominated by Maia, who, without surprise, won the game by 59-67.
