The women's CAB team received the formation of Vagos in play for the sixth Women's League journey, In a game that the CAB coach, João Pedro Vieira, described as a clash between two candidates for the title, Madeirans and continentals gave their fullest to win the victory, dignifying, above all, women's basketball. The meeting began better for Vagos, who achieved the first points of the match and put the CAB 'in sense'. A response from the CAB was not expected, mainly due to the good defensive performance (6 ball robberies in the first period), which gradually allowed the Friends to gain their space in the match. Even so, the balance was the dominant note and the first half ended with a tie at 16-16. In the second half, the CAB continued its bet on the pressing defense and the fight for the jumps (23 gains, to the interval), arguments that led the Vagos to have made, already to the interval, 18 losses of ball without release. In the attack, the CAB, very well commanded by Joana Lopes, had in the American duo the two best scorers (12 points each at the interval). Carolina Escortius, with 7 points at the interval, was also a great source of energy for those of the house, who reached the gap in front by 38-27. On the return of the locker rooms, the CAB again showed some instability in the early moments. In addition, Julie Forster's fourth abhorrence with her friends has removed some defensive and rebound power, which required additional effort from the other players. Fortunately, for those of the house, Marta Bravo revealed her warm hand and consecutively noted no less than three triples, thus breaking the defense to the area that was set up by John January. Galnanized by the good provision of Madeira, the CAB won the period by 19-18 and reached the end of the third time ahead by 57-45. In the fourth period, the CAB fully took over the reins of the match, making use of its arguments in the chapter of the rebound and the inner game. In the match, the Amigas won no less than 51 jumps and forced visitors to commit 27 unlaunched ball losses. Although, in spaces, those of the house reveal some physical fatigue, probably derived from the defensive effort they had been making, the huge teamwork, and sometimes the show offered by the CAB players to all present led to a deserved and fair victory by 83-57. It was beautiful to see! In individual terms: Cintia France (1), Joana Lopes (3), Marta Bravo (16), Julie Forster (16), Ashley Bruner (22), Carla Freitas (15), Leonor Nunes (7) and Carolina Escorcio (3). In Lisbon, the CAB men's team confronted Benfica, a team formed to win all the titles in Portugal and perform a positive performance in European competitions. The difference between the two teams was more than evident, due also to the great economic power of Benfica, which is unique to all other Portuguese basketball teams. The match began in a balanced way, with Benfica winning the first period, but only by a difference of four points (22-18). The result was partly due to the mismatch of the men of the house, but also to the defensive and offensive merit of the CAB, which was able to exploit its strengths and minimize the main arguments of the Lisboners. In the second period, the punctual difference between the two teams increased, with Benfica reaching the interval ahead by 49-31, a result that allowed Carlos Lisboa to go to the locker rooms with greater tranquility. In the third period, the CAB showed too many defensive weaknesses, which were exploited by the Benfica team. The high achievement of points by the men of the house led them to shoot the marker, and after winning the period for the result of 30-16, they reached the end of the third time to win by 79-47. The four period was won by the CAB (19-24), but the reaction was insufficient to avoid the victory of the continentals by 98-71. In individual terms: Jordan Aaron (17), Stefan Djukic (11), Jorge Coelho (22), Jovoni Shuler (9), José Correia (3), Frederico Tavares (2), José Martins (5), Gonçalo Miranda (2).
