The women's team won the second game of the double journey they held this weekend on the continent. After yesterday's victory in front of Quinta dos Lombos, the team led by João Pedro Vieira visited and won Maria Alberta Meneres for the result of 41-71. The evolution of the marker was as follows: 12-19 (1P), 21-39 (2P), 34-53 (3P) and 41-71 (final). The match was important mainly because it allowed the CAB to give a lot of play time and competition to the less used athletes, while allowing a greater rest to the players who have been most requested throughout the season. The players who have been in the field for the longest time today have been very well and up to the challenge that was launched by the main coach. It is proof that the club has options in its bank and that they can make a very positive contribution to the team and its objectives. So all the players are in 'Happy Birthday!'. In a way of curiosity, to point out that many of the players who, in today's match, have accumulated the most game time were exactly those who, a few years ago, were national champions for our Satellite Team. Without a doubt, a 'small' detail that proves the importance of that team for the forming process of the women's teams of the CAB. In individual terms: Cintia Franca (6), Catarina Freitas (8), Marta Bravo (9), Maria João (9), Carla Freitas (2), Schera Sampson (7), Carolina Escorcio (19) and Carla Relva (11). CAB/CSM loses at Benfica's less successful home was the shift of the Satellite Team to the Pavilion of Light, where Benfica faced. The team, which did not count on the participation of the athletes who are part of the senior squad, obviously was the game with less sports arguments than the opponents. The final result was 93-52. Even so, Ricardo Montes's guidance gave an excellent lesson in delivery and dedication to the game. Other than Benfica's superiority, our athletes tried everything in their power to counter the course of the match. In doing so, the 'our girls' took another step in their Formation and also in their growth as athletes. For these reasons, and because we believe very much in the quality of the work that has been developed by Coach Ricardo Montes, we wish the working group and its great coach the continuation of a serious and dedicated work.
