Next Friday, September 21st, at 8 p.m., the CAB-Madeira is playing the ‘Masters CAB’, a game that will allow current coaches, lovers of the sport and practitioners of ‘other eras’ to take part in a friendly game in which, more important than winning or losing, is to celebrate the passion for basketball. Thus, the ‘Masters CAB’ promises a lot of animation, conviviality and, above all, good disposition, as is, moreover, characteristic of the initiatives of the CAB FAMILY. The presence of about thirty ‘athletes’ is guaranteed, including coaches currently serving the Club, former practitioners of the sport and people who, directly or indirectly, are associated with the CAB-Madeira. These will be divided into two teams, which, for forty minutes, will measure strength to find out who remembers best how to run and shoot in a basketball court. Among the names already confirmed for the match are Isabel Pascoal, Mafalda Senheiro, Joana Alves and Carla Abreu, former senior players and national champions for the CAB, João Tiago Alves, former regional athlete and champion for the ‘Friends’, Miguel Pimenta, Mara Pinto, Roberto Rodrigues and Catarina Jesus, current trainers for the Training, and also João Pedro Vieira and Francisco Gomes, former athletes and members of the current Directorate. The game will take place in the CAB Pavilion, headquarters of the ‘Friends of the Basketball’. The game ‘Masters CAB’ is being viewed with great enthusiasm by FAMILY CAB, which aims to create a captivating and positive interaction environment in its pavilion. Francisco Gomes, President of the CAB-Madeira, notes that “CAB is a FAMILY composed not only of players who are now active, but also of coaches, veterans and all those who have been associated with the Club and felt what it is to work for their ideal trainers. Therefore, it makes sense to carry out initiatives such as the ‘Masters CAB’, which are also a way of honoring those who have given and continue to bear witness to the growth of the Club in all its aspects.”
