Federation approves image proposed by ABM

The Portuguese Basketball Federation (FPB) issued an opinion in favour of the logo proposal that was submitted by the Madeira Basketball Association (ABM) for the 'Final Four' of the Portuguese Cup of Female Basketball, to be held in Funchal, in the CAB Pavilion, on 8 and 9 March. The institution leading Portuguese basketball approved the image proposed by its regional interlocutor, adopting the image proposed as a symbol of the competition that will gather, in the CAB Pavilion, the teams of Vagos, Boa Viagem, União Sportiva and CAB. With this decision, this image will appear in the material relating to 'Final Four', acting as a visual reference to it. In the approved image, the basketball, universal symbol of the sport, as well as the symbol of the Portuguese Basketball Federation, the maximum basketball entity in our country. The approved image also includes references to the region where the competition will be played, namely the flag of the Autonomous Region of Madeira and the name 'Madeira'. Finally, the year of the 'Final Four' (2014), the competition in question (Taça de Portugal) and the name of the event ('Final Four') are present in the image. In general terms, the image intends to incorporate the dynamism that characterizes the modality of basketball and also dignify the magnitude of the federative test. As is customary in all events organized by the FPB, the symbol also refers to the joy and youth of the modality.
