Pedro Passalacqua and Henrique Cunha will integrate the pre-season work of the Men's Senior Team. The players of the Training Schools of Friends were called by Coach João Paulo Silva ('Juca') for the preparation training of the professional team that will compete in the Portuguese League, thus receiving a vote of confidence in their work and in their dedication. Passalacqua and Cunha are two 'pearls' in the formation of the CAB, which have excelled in the performances carried out in the sub-16 and sub-24 stages. With different sports résumés and also very own game styles, players share a superior work ability, as well as a great commitment to training and basketball in general. To add to this, Passalacqua and Cunha are also good students, proving that it is perfectly possible to reconcile Sport and School when there is will and capacity for sacrifice. Young people's bet is Coach Juca's mark. The integration of young players in the pre-season work of the Men's Team is a habit of the formations guided by João Paulo Silva. Remembering that it was in this way that other young players - such as João Pedro Fernandes and Tiago Oliveira, to mention only the most recent cases - have won an opportunity and also a place in the Senior Team, which today already integrate in full, thanks to their effort and great work capacity. The examples of João Pedro Fernandes and Tiago Oliveira, which are now followed by Pedro Passalacqua and Henrique Cunha, are all the more relevant when we consider that, in addition to intense basketball practice, these young people continue very stable school careers, and they are all in the process of integrating university education, something that is already a reality in the specific case of João Pedro Fernandes. Quality training is a reality in the CAB Thus, the CAB has two more reasons to trust the Training Process that has been developed in the young layers. If it is true that no Training Process is perfect, because the challenges that need to be faced are many - from the motivation of the players and the organization of time to the availability of the families and the management of schedules - it is no less true that the young layers of Friends have produced players for senior teams, including several who, for reasons of study, leave the Region and end up joining, ironically, other Portuguese teams. It is unquestionable that the CAB must continue to work even more and better, because that is the obligation of the club and because it is not (and has never been) apanage of the Friends of the Basketball 'sleep in the shadow of the banana tree'. However, this work will continue to be done within an eye of trust and humility, as it is well known that the club has excellent coaches, has committed players and has Education Officers who believe in the work being done in the CAB Pavilion. The way is always forward!
