Training ends year with joy

The year 2014 for CAB Formation ended best! Friends of the Basketball, in partnership with ADRAP and Calheta, organized a Christmas Tournament that allowed children and young people of different ranks to complete the year in their favorite way, that is, playing basketball!... In the morning, the competition focused on the ranks of Minibasket, with the three clubs, in a real demonstration of sportsmanship, mixing their athletes in various teams and doing everything in games that had both competitive and fun. With the clubbing set aside, it was one morning and basketball shone and it really was the most winning sport. To do so, it was enough to see the mirrored joy in the faces of the children who participated in the event, who could live the game for the game, without unnecessary rivalries. At the end of the morning, the CAB awarded ADRAP and Calheta small trophies of thanks for their participation in the activity. The afternoon began with a small 'clinical' for athletes and coaches, in which João Paulo Silva, coach of the senior male team, and João Pedro Vieira, coach of the senior female team, presented and discussed some basic concepts for the practice of basketball. To the didactic moment followed games that mobilized the echelons of Mini-12, Sub-14, Sub-16 and Sub-24, which resulted as excellent opportunities for CAB athletes to measure strength and gain encouragement for the second phase of the season. The tournament was concluded with the delivery of small trophies to the winning teams of each tier and with an association of athletes at the 'Sports Vintage' Restaurant, to the sound of the best songs of the moment. Finally, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the referees and board officers of the Madeira Basketball Association (ABM) for their collaboration with the tournament and without which it would not have been possible. We highlight the friendly and cooperative role of ABM in promoting the modality, because it is essential for basketball and all clubs to continue to grow.
