The last day of the XVI CAB tournament was a day of decisions and competitive games that determined the big winners of the event. After a week of camaraderie, fun and matches between major training schools, it was time to find out who would go home with the CAB Tournament winner trophy. The first final was held at 10:30 p.m., in the sub-14 female class. Front to front were the teams of Galomar and SIMECQ. In what was a well played game and that dignified the event and the modality, they won the SIMECQ players by the result of 72-38. The expressive result denotes the difference between the two teams, but despite this fact, the game was beautiful, with the teams respecting each other and doing everything to offer the public a good show. In the second final of the day, the CAB and the Francisco Franco School competed for the title of winners in the sub-14 male level. It was a very played game with frequent alternations in the scorer, as none of the teams wanted to miss the opportunity to sagrate Champion of the Tournament. With greater accuracy and discernment in the last minutes of the match, Francisco Franco ended up securing the victory in this exciting final, with the score mark to mark, at the end of the game, the result of 71-51. After lunch, it was time for the CAB Pavilion to attend a basketball demonstration in wheelchairs. If there were still doubts, this was a game that highlighted how much basketball is a truly universal modality and that can be practiced by people who physically have limitations that so-called ‘normal’ people do not. It was a beautiful moment of the tournament and it certainly made everyone who took part in the event aware of the cause of people with special needs. At 4:00 p.m. the ever-awaited final of the male sub16 echelon began. CAB “A” and Gaia entered the field willing to snatch the trophy in dispute, with both teams showing enormous commitment and a lot of basketball quality. At the interval the CAB won by 34-26. In the whole second part the whole game remained, with Gaia coming in very well, but with the CAB always being able to keep a short but precious advantage. In a spectacular game, he won the CAB with great merit by 70-61. With the honor of closing the tournament, the final of the women's sub16 team was played between the CAB and Algés, national champion team. After, in the first phase, the young Madeirans had lost by a few points the game that opposed the same teams, the expectation was great to know how much Algés could impose his mastery or the CAB would find a way to achieve its qualities in this final. The game did not defraud expectations and was always very balanced. At the end of the first part the CAB won by 24-20. In the second part both teams continued to surrender fully to the game and the result remained uncertain even until the end. He ended up winning the CAB, scoring 58-51. With the sea line very close and illuminated by the beautiful sunset light, the closing and award ceremony was held. A result of the partnership between the CAB and the Funchal Naval Club, the recognition of the winners of the Tournament took place in Quinta Calaça. With players, athletes and staff exchanging sportswear for a more formal costume, the event took place with beauty, joy and many smiles - or otherwise the dominant tonic of the entire Tournament. In addition to the winners of the various ranks, the MVPs were distinguished from each category and the winners of the street basketball tournament (3x3) which was held on Thursday. At the end of the ceremony, the CAB Directorate recognized the CAB Athlete from 2012/2013. The award, which is the highest award that can be awarded to a club athlete, recognizes a conduct of excellence, not only in the basketball field, but also in the family and studies.
