The Administration of the SAD of the CAB has just confirmed that Tiago Oliveira will return to the team of Friends that will compete in the Men's League in 2016/2017. This will be the third time that the 16-year-old (complete 17 November) joins the professional CAB team. Tiago Oliveira was born in Porto Santo and, when still playing in the Minibasketi classes of the Clube Basket do Porto Santo, attracted the attention of CAB Training Coordinators. Following several observations, the club invited the player's family to let him come to Madeira to join the club's sports boards. The invitation seemed positive, and the player, through his parents, signed a Sports Training Agreement with the Basketball Friends. The bet made by the club has been matched, with the player demonstrating, year after year, great commitment, enormous work ability and considerable evolution, which has already justified his call to the National Selection that competed in the European Under-16 Championship last summer. The athlete is inserted in the lot of players who are being closely followed by the Portuguese Basketball Federation and is considered as a ‘pearl’ of the club, in whom high expectations are placed for the future of the Men's Team of the CAB. "James is the kind of player any club would like to have and that the CAB has the privilege of counting on their sports boards," Francisco Gomes told the CAB's Official Website. "The ability to work, the commitment, the discipline, the seriousness and humility that he has revealed, year after year, that as a player, both as a student and as a son, are marks of a human greatness that is rare to find in today's young people, so we are sure that the future of the CAB can pass through it," concluded the leader of the Friends.
