The women's CAB team receives Vagos' training in the opening game of the 2016/2017 Women's League edition. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday at the CAB Pavilion. That's the second time the CAB and the Vagos have measured strength in less than a week. It should be remembered that, only last Sunday, the Friends and the Aveiro class measured strength on the occasion of the final of the Federation Cup, with the victory smiling at the Madeirans for the result of 58-41. However, the game scheduled for this Saturday is a completely different game, not only because the two formations already know each other better than they did the last time they met, but also because we are facing a game of another nature, not that of an ending, and for which the surrounding dynamics are also different. So the CAB rejects any early favoritism and knows that it will have to work hard, both in the attack and in the defense, to achieve its objectives. Vagos, in turn, comes to Madeira with the clear intention of winning the CAB and making a good start in this year's edition of the League. The visiting team is well oriented and has a group of quality players. Therefore, only the best CAB, respectful of the opponent, focused and effective in fulfilling the game plan, will overcome the adversities that will certainly be created by continental formation. João Freitas speaks of an evolving process In anticipation of the Official CAB Site, João Freitas gives voice to the friends' willingness to win the game, but also highlights that the team is still in a construction phase. According to coach: "This is a completely different game from the Victor Hugo Cup final. The Vagos must already bring their foreign players, who come to pose other kinds of problems. Vagos was one of the most organized teams we played. It's a very strong team in transitions and situations of 1x1." The Madeiran coach also states that the main focus is the evolution of the CAB team and that there is still a lot of work to be done before the team reaches the level it wants. In his words: "We very much respect Vagos, but we are at a time when our main concern is our team. There are still many mechanisms to automate. Many readings of the different aspects of the game to improve. I recognize that there is a significant improvement in the commitment that athletes have with coaches and with the different tasks to be performed. But we're still a long way from what we want to do." In conclusion, João Freitas gives voice to the whole determination of the group, observing: "Let's not rest until we can get the most out of each athlete's potential and then gather the potentials of all and build the team we want to be."
