He finished the CAB Elite Camp. The initiative, aimed at a selected number of players from the various CAB Training classes, aimed at the technical improvement of the participating athletes. In what was, for some, a first contact with high-performance training, the experience was marked by intensity, rigor, work and demand. The CAB Official Site asked Coach João Paulo Silva, coach of the senior male team of the CAB and one of the coordinators of Elite Camp, to take stock of the two weeks of work. In his words, “The goals have been fully overcome with regard to the content we have established: improvement of the launch dribble and high incidence of footwork.” Work carried out progressively The coach also explained how the work was oriented, noting, “We were progressively increasing the level of demand and, in general, athletes showed a very committed attitude. We have once again fulfilled the obligation to grant adequate service to the ambitions of these athletes. We do not want to limit the aspirations that each of them has to realize the dream of participating in our professional teams. This is a requirement for each of our coaches and, above all, for those responsible for coordinating these activities.” Joy and camaraderie always present In the way of balance, João Paulo Silva highlights the feeling of realization with which Elite Camp came to an end. For the training, “We finished the CAB Elite Camp in an environment of joy and duty accomplished. The intensity of the work was always accompanied by the intervention necessary for the personalized development of the selected athletes. We are sure that each of them is more prepared to mentally resist and overcome the difficulties of this type of work.” Acknowledgment to participating coaches and athletes At the time of ‘close the book’ in the 2015 issue of Elite Camp, João Paulo Silva did not forget the players and other coaches who made the initiative possible. “To the coaches involved I leave here a message of thanks because the relationship with the athletes will always be a way for each of us to continue to learn the ‘mysteries’ inherent in the process of training young athletes. Congratulations to all the athletes who have enabled us the pleasure of, together, walking in this process of sports training. See you soon
